Annabelle
FINALLY, I HAD reached the point where I stopped avoiding Jeremy. I just didn't...purposely make plans to be around him.
"Matt's bumming pretty hard," Tyler finally spoke up, looking at Caroline. I still didn't understand why Caroline needed my help, but once again, I felt awkward walking through the woods with Tyler and Caroline.
"Yeah, he asked me what was wrong with you," I added.
"I know but it's better this way," Caroline sighed.
"I get it," Tyler nodded.
"You do?" Caroline sounded unsure, almost like she didn't believe him.
"Yeah. You can't be honest with him. and it's not fair you be with someone and not really let them know who you are," Tyler explained. To be honest, I was surprised he knew what it was like. Caroline looked down for a second before her eyes flickered back up to meet Tyler's gaze. "I get it."
"Well, while we're on the topic of guys," I cut in, squeezing between the two 'older' teens.
"We didn't come here to gossip," Tyler said with a roll of his eyes. I shrugged, a loud crunch coming from underneath my shoe as I stepped on a twig.
"I need advice," I told him.
"About?" Caroline looked happy to be talking about boys. Tyler, on the other hand, not so much. He looked rather annoyed, though that didn't stop me.
"Okay, so, when Elena was kidnapped, Jeremy, Bonnie, and I went back to his house to wait," I began, Caroline eagerly urging me to continue with a nod. "And he was all concerned about her and her use of magic. I mean, I was worried too, but I was literally sitting next to them and it was like I wasn't even there. Then, I ended up getting annoyed that they were ignoring me and I was tired of listening to them being all sweet, so I went downstairs. Eventually, Jeremy came downstairs and then we argued about him and Bonnie before I left."
"What's the part you need advice on?" Tyler questioned, arching a brow at me.
"Well, I just don't know what to do or if I should forgive him," I hesitated before adding, "It's stupid, but I thought we actually had something, you know?"
"Sounds like you should be telling him this," Tyler commented. I stared at him for a moment before looking away.
"I'd rather be stabbed to death before admitting that I potentially had feelings for Jeremy," I chuckled.
"Well, you can keep hiding it," Caroline told me. She nudged me with her arm, causing me to look at her. "But ignoring it doesn't help anything and doesn't make it go away."
"You would know," I teased, sharing a small laugh with her.
"It's right over here," Tyler cut into our conversation, walking a few more feet. "There's a cellar that goes to our old property."
