Annabelle

"HE CAME AT me, Bekah," I sighed as I stepped into the dressing room, having gone shopping with my aunt for homecoming. "I don't know how or why he was there, but he was."

"You should have called me," Bekah said through the closed door. I sighed heavily as I zipped up my dress. The zipper, thankfully, was on the side so it was easy to zip. I pushed open the door as I stepped out, showing her the purple dress I had picked out. "Absolutely not, it makes you look pale."

I chuckled before stepping back into the room, locking the door behind me as I tugged off the dress. "I didn't exactly have much time to grab my phone as I was pressed up against a wall."

"Are you okay?" Bekah asked, genuinely sounding concerned. "I know it must have been emotional for you to see him again."

"I'm fine," I assured her, pulling up the sixth dress I had tried on. I decided it was too short and didn't even bother showing Bekah. "It happened so long ago that I hardly even remember that."

"That's a lie and you know it," Bekah pointed out. "You never truly forget being turned and the lives lost after you needed blood to survive." I had a sad smile settled on my face as I looked at myself in the mirror.

I hung up the dress that didn't fit, placing it with the other dresses that were a no for me. Finally, I came to the last dress I had left to try on. It was a soft pink with a black trim around my waist. "Maybe not, but I've moved on. Yes, I wasn't expecting to trigger my curse at fifteen, but I've come to terms with it."

"We never wanted that for you," Bekah began as I pulled up the pink dress, running my hands down the side of it. It hugged the curves on my body perfectly and was a good length, not too short and not too long. "Elijah, Nik, all of us tried to protect you from our parents and the curse."

"It's okay, I never blamed you guys. You had no idea that Grandma would give me the vampire curse," I told her, tugging open the door to show her the dress. "Besides, you tried to protect me as much as possible but I, well, I was a rebel child."

"Yet here you are, the Mikaelson with the kindest heart." Bekah grinned down at me as she took in the dress. "That is perfect for you. The color looks fantastic and it fits your body perfectly. You'll have all the guys over you."

"Thanks, Aunt Bekah," I said with a smile as she wrapped me in her arms, kissing me at the top of my head. "Did you pick out a dress? I hope it's not pink, then you might truly look like a Barbie."

Bekah huffed as she pulled away, shooting me a playful glare. "Why does everyone keep calling me a Barbie? I'm not a stupid Barbie!"

After spending the day with Jeremy, he drove me home. It was dark out and I was beyond thankful for the ride. "I appreciate the ride, Jere."

"You don't have to say thank you every time, B," Jeremy told me, leaning forward to kiss me on the lips. I grinned into the kiss, leaning forward as we got carried away. However, before we could go much further, I pulled away. Both of us were grinning like idiots but I wouldn't change it. "I'll pick you up tomorrow before the dance."

"Sounds good to me," I nodded, unbuckling my seatbelt as I climbed out of the car, waving before heading inside the house. When I got there, I passed the living room but instantly froze as I saw who was standing in there. There were the usual people, Elena, Damon, and Stefan, but there was also one more. "Grandpa?"

He turned at the sound of my voice, meeting my eyes. "Hello, Annabelle."

"Why the hell are you here?" I asked, my gaze flickering over to my aunt. "Why is he here?"

"He's going to lure Klaus back to Mystic Falls," Elena explained to me and I shook my head.

"What are you going to do to him?" My question was directed at my grandfather, who was smiling at me.

"I'm going to kill him with these white oak ashes," he informed me, motioning towards the vile with the ashes. I took a deep breath as I subconsciously stepped back. I took note of how Elena held a dagger in her hand, standing in from of my Mikael. He turned back to Elena. "I'm trusting that you will take this dagger out of me. Now, please, lets get on with this before my granddaughter gets...rather upset."

Elena nodded, her gaze flickering between the dagger and Mikael. With slightly shaky hands, she jammed the dagger into Mikael's heart with one swift motion. He fell to the ground, grey and deep in sleep.

"I'll call Klaus," Stefan announced, pulling his phone from his pocket.

"I don't know what kind of deal you're making, but you cannot trust him," I warned the trio before my eyes flickered to my aunt, who was standing in the corner of the room with tears in her eyes.

"He wants Klaus dead as much as all the rest of us," Elena defended him, though she had no right to. She didn't know him, none of them did. Stefan dialed my uncle's number before pressing it to his ears, allowing it to ring.

"Klaus, we have Mikael's dead body here," Stefan informed me uncle while I scoffed, crossing my arms over my chest. Nik said something on the other line, causing Stefan to stand up as he moved to look at Mikael's body. "Well, he's here. Come by whenever."

"If you're lying to me, Stefan, your compulsion will expose you," Nik warned him from the other end. "So, answer with your life. Is what you're saying the truth?"

"It's true. I saw it with my own eyes," Stefan said.

"I wanna talk to Rebekah," Nik ordered from the other side of the call. Even when he was miles away he was just as demanding.

"That's not a problem. She's right here." Stefan walked over to Bekah, offering her the phone. She took it with a solemn look on her face, pressing it against her ear.

"Hello, Nik."

"Rebekah, love. What's this I hear about Mikael's tragic run-in with a dagger?" I heard Nik ask. Elena nodded, reassuring Bekah that it was okay to go through with this lie.

"It's true," Bekah said after a moment of silence. "He's finally out of our lives for good. I miss you. I'm miserable here."

"I'll be home soon." Their plan was working and I'm sure they're thrilled about it.

"Good. I'll see you then, brother." With that, Bekah hung up, handing the phone back to Stefan. "He bought it. He's coming home."

"You are all ridiculous for this," I said, glaring at the four. "Trusting him is one of the worst things you can do." I whipped around to face Bekah. "And you, going along with this. Seriously? Do you not remember how much he hurts us? I still have the scars to prove it!"

"It had to be done. I don't trust him and I never will but Nik has to be stopped. He's gone too far," Bekah said quietly and I shook my head, brushing past her. "Beauty-"

"Leave me alone, Bekah," I snapped as I went upstairs.
