Annabelle
TAKING BEKAH SHOPPING was a wonderful experience as we both were able to get new clothes, Nik and Stefan patiently waiting outside the changing room.
"There has to be more to this dress," Bekah commented with annoyance.
"There's not," Nik told her.
"What about this one?" I asked as I pushed the curtain aside, stepping out. Nik eyed me, nearly choking on his drink as he took in the dress I was wearing. It was casual enough that I could wear it around town, however, it had a tiny leg slit and boob slit.
"Absolutely not. Change, now," Nik ordered upon seeing it. I pouted at him, hearing Bekah step out of her changing area. She had on a dark black dress with a wide v-neck. Stefan's eyes flickered up in interest.
"That looks wonderful on you, Aunt Bex," I all but squealed, taking in the dress. She only rolled her eyes, glancing down at the knitted fabric.
"Oh, honey, I look good in everything but women in the 21st century dress like prostitutes," Bekah said in annoyance. I pretended to look hurt, holding a hand to my chest.
"I'm offended, you just called me a prostitute," I told her with a huff. Nik, who was drinking his champagne, instantly lost his smile.
"If you have anything like that, it will be burned immediately. Now go change before anyone sees you. Your father would not be happy about that dress," Nik said, making a hand motion to shoo me back behind the curtain. I huffed, crossing my arms as I made my way to change, pulling the curtain closed behind me. "And quit with the tantrum."
I yanked the curtain back open, scowling at him. "Its not a tantrum. It's called annoyance, which I am experiencing after being told no ten times." Nik rolled his eyes at me as Stefan stared at him.
"You know, I got dirty looks for wearing trousers," I heard Bekah say, being able to hear her clearly due to the only thing separating us being a curtain.
"You wore trousers so women today could wear nothing," Nik shot back. I finished changing quickly, grabbing the one item my uncle had approved of--a turtle neck.
"And what is this music?" I pushed the curtain as I stepped outside. "It sounds like a cable car accident."
"Hey, don't hate on the music," I scolded her lightly, but it was more in a teasing way.
"It's dance music," Stefan explained to her, careful not to stare at her.
"People dance to this?" Bekah asked in utter disbelief, receiving a hum from Stefan.
"Are we done?" Nik asked, growing rather impatient.
"And why are you so grumpy?" Bekah asked as I moved to sit on the arm rest of the chair Nik was sitting on.
