Annabelle
WHEN I FINALLY returned home, my tears were gone as I had cried too much, the first thing I did was return to the place where my uncle's body lay. I had decided that I was going to put a sheet over him until I could get someone to put him in his coffin, then wait for him to wake up.
However, I froze upon noticing his body was gone. Mentally, I cursed at being stupid enough to leave him. What if Alaric had gotten him? After panicking for a moment, I realized it was probably one of the Salvatore brothers seeing as they were descended from Nik.
"Where is my uncle's body?" I demanded the second Damon answered my phone call.
"A couple of miles too far for you to find," Damon shot back instantly, his voice calm and unremorseful.
"Damon, you just stopped my uncle's heart in front of me. I think I deserve to know where he is," I told him, trying to keep my voice from cracking. Through the thousands of times my uncle had daggered my family, only once had I lost him. This was now my second time.
"Sorry, little birdie, I can't tell you where he is," Damon said and he made me want to bash his head into a wall.
"You're messing with the wrong family, Damon," I said, my voice deadly low. "Give me my uncle's body or I'll show you exactly what it means to be a Mikaelson."
"Oh please, you're full of empty threats," Damon commented, chuckling on the other end. "I'm not afraid of you, Annabelle."
"You should be," I said, my jaw tightening. "Remember this, Damon. You are only alive because I want you alive. One word from me, my whole family would kill you. If you weren't so close to Jeremy, I would do it myself." In my entire time as a vampire, I had only killed four people and absolutely hated it. However, Damon didn't need to know that."
"Oh, someone's finally grown up," Damon laughed again, only fueling my anger. At some point, my immense sadness had turned into anger and I wasn't sure when.
"Fine. Play dirty Damon, but do not come after my family again," I snapped, hanging up the phone before he could reply. Quickly, I typed in a different number.

I stood outside the Gilbert's house, my back to their door. My eyes were rimmed with red from crying, though I paid no mind to it. I looked up and I saw a figure approaching me. "Hi, Dad."
Dad didn't say anything. Instead, he pulled me close, his hand resting on the back of my head as he pressed a kiss to my head.
When he pulled away, his eyes scanned my face. "Are you alright?"
I took a deep breath, offering a half smile. "As alright as I can be. Now, let's get this over with, shall we?" Dad hesitated for a moment before nodding, gliding past me and knocking on the door. Elena was the one to answer, pulling the door open with confidence, which quickly turned into one of fear.
