Annabelle
"Thanks for picking me up," I said gratefully to Jeremy as I climbed into his car.
"You're welcome," Jeremy offered me a grin as he backed out of the Salvatore driveway.
"You're going to take me home too, right?" I asked, looking over at my boyfriend. My boyfriend felt like such an amazing thing to say.
"Yes," Jeremy chuckled. "I'll drive you home so you can drink as much beer as you want."
"Good," I sighed, leaning my head against the back of the chair. "After the summer I've had, I need it. That reminds me, we need to talk before we get to the bombfire."
"That sounds serious," Jeremy commented. "What is it?"
I swallowed hard, trying to work up the nerves to talk to him. "Jeremy, are you sure you want to do this? You and I, I mean."
"Of course I'm sure," Jeremy said with a nod, one hand on the steering wheel and the other reaching over to grab my hand. "Why? Do you not want to?"
"I do," I reassured him. "But it's just...if my uncle or father finds out that I'm dating a Gilbert, who has connections to the Salvatores, things might blood and I don't want you stuck in the middle of it. They're crazy overprotective and most certainly will do anything to keep us apart."
"Hey," Jeremy drew my attention to him. "I'm ready for this. Whatever your uncle wants to do, I don't care as long as I'm with you."
"That was kind of cheesy," I laughed, seeing a hint of a smile appear on his face.
"Maybe but it was the truth." When we pulled up to the bombfire, it was surrounded by drunk teenagers. "Now, come on. Let's have some fun."
"Okay," I agreed, unbuckling my seatbelt as I climbed out of the car.

"Jere bear," I stumbled into him, feeling his arm wrap around my waist. "You look cute." I was giggling uncontrollably, determining that I had way too much to drink. I was just so caught up trying to get my anger and sadness to subside.
"Thanks," Jeremy laughed, opening his front door. He had opted to take me to his house because it was closer. Besides, nobody was at Salvatore's house and he didn't want me alone.
"You know, I think that you're way more than basic," I babbled on, allowing him to pull me into his arms, his arm hooking under my knees. He carried me upstairs towards his room.
"Oh yeah?" Jeremy pushed his bedroom door open with his foot,
"Yeah," I nodded, giggling as he set me on his bed.
"What's so funny?" Jeremy asked, tipping his head to the side ever so slightly. He smiled softly at me while I kicked my feet up on his bed. "Hey, get your dirty shoes off my covers."
