A FEW DAYS went passed and almost every night, I spent hours on the phone with Jeremy. I was beyond excited for him to come back, though I knew it might be a while.
"Beauty, get up," Bekah said as she barged into my room. I looked at her with a questioning look, closing my book.
"What's going on?" I questioned, earning a wicked grin from her.
"We're going to burn some things," She told me and I squealed, tossing my sketchbook on my bed as I stood up.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Let's go," I said excitedly, pulling on my sneakers. I had my fluffy pajamas on but I was far to excited to burn stuff and didn't feel like changing. We snuck outside into the cold night, quickly climbing into the car. "What are we burning?"
"The bridge," Bekah told me. "It's made of white oak."
"What? But you said you all burned it," I said as I followed her to her car. It beeped to signal she had unlocked it and we both climbed in.
"I thought we did," Bekah shrugged. "Apparently the bridge is made out of it. On the bright side, we get to have some aunt-niece bonding time."
"Let's go burn some things." I grinned at her, earning a smile from her.

A car came whipping around the corner, coming to a quick stop as Damon stepped out. He let out an annoyed snarl as he saw the fires.
"Your grand plans always seem to get ruined, don't they?" Bekah asked, tipping her head to the side as she stared at Damon with a smirk. "Sorry to disappoint you. Again."
"And here I thought you were good one, little birdie," Damon said, narrowing his eyes as he peered at me with anger.
"Sorry, Damon," I was sincerely apologetic. "But it's the only thing that can kill me and my family and I will do whatever it takes to protect them." Damon glared at me as Bekah and I left, leaving an angry Damon behind.
"I supposed we just ruined his night," Bekah commented as climbed into her car.
"I'd say so," I agreed with a nod.

Upon hearing voices in the foyer, I grabbed my bowl of chocolate-covered strawberries and headed towards the commotion. However, I was most certainly not expecting to see Nik and Bekah standing over Finn.
"Let's get his blood and get on with it," Bekah said as I came downstairs.
"You can't force me to help you," Finn, who was lying on the ground, said.
"Oh, I most likely could," Nik told him, a grin appearing on his face. "But why force when I can persuade?" He lifted his arm, motioning towards our staircase.
