Annabelle
THIS DINNER WAS a terrible idea, that I was sure of. At some point, while I was caught up hallucinating, Nik had found the hunter and strung him up.
"This is terrible, Nik," I rolled my eyes as I glared at the man. "But he did try to kill Tyler so I guess I can push aside how horrible this is."
"You feeling alright, mate? Are the shackles to tight?" Nik held a teasing smile and it only widened when he heard footsteps. "Welcome home, sister."
Behind Bekah was Stefan, though he didn't look as surprised as Bekah to see the hunter tied up. "This is a trick?" Bekah looked wearily between Nik and the man. "How do you know he's one of the five? Where's his bloody tattoo?"
"Oh, the tattoos aren't visible on this lot," Nik explained, jabbing his finger towards the hunter. "Like they were on the last. Let's eat."
My phone suddenly began ringing, quite loudly. "It's dad," I announced, glancing up. "I'll join you in a few minutes. He'll flip if I don't answer."
"Take your time, love," Nik assured me, sitting down at the small, round table.
"Hello?" I answered, stepping into the other room and away from the small group.
"Annabelle, are you alright?" My father's concerned voice filled my ears.
"I'm fine," I furrowed my eyebrows. "Why?"
"Niklaus informed me that you ingested werewolf blood," Dad said and I sighed loudly.
"I'm fine, Dad. It can't kill me, remember," I reminded him.
"No, but it can cause extreme hallucinations. Make you relive things you do not wish to relive. Tell me, what did you see?"
"Dad, I'm fine, I promise," I laughed lightly.
"What did you see?" Dad didn't seem to be budging on wanting to know what I saw.
"It's really not important," I replied, shivering going down my spine as I thought of Alec.
"It is to me," Dad said.
After a moment of silence, I finally confessed. "I saw Alec."
"How are you feeling?"
"Well, I was scared when I saw him," I admitted. "But I'm alright now."
"No nightmares?" Jeez, was this twenty questions or something?
"No nightmares," I confirmed, though I hadn't gone to sleep to really test that.
"But you will call me if they start upon again? I can be back there in mere seconds," Dad reminded me and I nodded, despite the fact he couldn't see me.
"I know," I replied before adding, "
"I'll call if I get one."
"Good," Dad hummed in satisfaction. "And you're keeping up with your blood intake?"
