Annabelle

"IT DOESN'T MATTER where I've been!" I snapped, glaring at my uncle.

"Yes, it does. Clearly, you were somewhere where you don't want your father nor I knowing about if you had to sneak out," Nik yelled, both of our strong tempers coming into play. A few minutes ago, he came up to me asking where I was last night because when Bekah came to check on me, she found an empty bed. I merely rolled my eyes at him and crossed my arms.

"I'm not telling you," I said stubbornly and his jaw clenched. "It's your fault anyway. You didn't know I was gone."

"You will tell me," Nik told me lowly as he stepped closer to me, the two of us now eye to eye. I snapped, shoving him roughly, emitting a growl from him.

"No, I'm not!"

"Fine, it's settled then," Nik smugly said, a smile appearing on his lips. "If you cannot behave, you will not be staying here."

My mouth fell open in shock as I gazed at him. "You can't do that. You're not my father."

Nik laughed as he stepped back. "No, but I'm in charge of you, per your father's request. Now, go eat your breakfast and I'll send Tyler to help you pack." The mention of Tyler's name confused me, seeing as Tyler claimed he was no longer sired to Nik. Out of anger, I reached for the vase beside me and chuckled it at his head.

He quickly ducked, allowing the vase to shatter as it hit the wall. He whipped around around, his eyes darkening as he rushed towards me, getting in my face again. "Do not disrespect me in my home."

I laughed in his face. "Then don't be a douchebag."

"Room, now."

"No," I argued, glaring at him.

"Annabelle Brielle Mikaelson, I am warning you. If you're not going to tell me where you were, fine, I will find out eventually. But you will not be throwing things at me," Nik told me sternly, gripping my wrists tightly. "Do you understand?" I stayed quiet, having a staring contest with him. "I said, do. you. understand?"

After a moment, I gave him. "Yes, I understand."

"Good," he released me just as Bekah walked in.

"Alaric Saltzman just tried to kill me," Bekah breathed out as she walked in. Silently, I cheered in victory. Saved by the aunt. Nik, however, shot me a warning look.

"Don't think you're off the hook," Nik said before turning towards Bekah. "Alaric Saltzman is supposed to be dead."

"Yeah, he didn't complete the transition," I said, shaking my head.

"Well, he's not! And he's a vampire." Bekah sounded genuinely freaked out, which worried me. "Thanks to Mother's spell with a white oak stake that can't kill him. He's stronger, Nik, too strong."
