Chapter 64: New World Order

February 2028

After the demon lord's defeat a month earlier peace talk were being held between the UN, the Lomor Empire and the Solat Alliance.

Meanwhile, a large underground facility belonging to the ancient civilization was discovered below Rocam together with some important informations that made magic more clear to the eyes of scientists.

"So, it could be possibile to detect the electromagnetic waves that interacts with matter when a spell is casted?" Giovanni Rossi stated while reading the report made by the scientific team that explored the facility.

"That could be exploited to build some devices that could be used by soldier to detect spells before it's to late. Now it's a peaceful time but guerilla could still happen..."

Inside the facility the earthlings also were able to improve their knowdlege about mind altering spells like the translation one and the mind control one.

"These spell alter the brain structure at the molecular level in order to manipulate or transfer new informations to the brain. For now the locals used these to transfer language related knowdlege but it could be possible to use them to train a soldier faster or to imprint entire university courses in our brain in minutes..." A neurologist explained to a team of generals and scientists beloning to different countries.

"For the mind control, as you already know, it's not possible to alter the core brain structure to a significant level and one could only force another person to do things he would unconsciously already do but we could do more research on this topic." He finished and the crowd applauded.

March 2028.

In march, the first magic tracking devices were devoloped and given to various teams of soldiers scattared all around the empire.

"Man, I knew that real magic was bullshit. That shit belongs to fairytales." An american soldier said while drinking around a tree with an italian soldier.

"But it's "real" but not in the way we imagined it would be." The italian stated while drinking a whiskey.

"Man, I hope sergeant doesn't find us or it would get ugly..." The american said while also drinking .

Then the two saw a peasant coming toward them.

"Good evening sir, may I join you?" He asked.

"Hey, why are you speaking english? Are you a wizard? The device didn't signal anything..." The US soldier stated.

"Yes, I'm a wizard but not like the ones you met before...."

"You're joking man! Is the alcohol playing tricks on us?" The italian said.

"In this vast universe there are many things that you will never knew of. Many mysteries that your science would not be able to explain and not even the one of the ancient civilization." The peasant said.

"Hey if that's a joke it's not funny." The two soldiers said reading their weapons but then the mysterious man disappeared in front of theirs eyes.

"WTF? The device is still silent. Is it malfunctioning? We already tested it hundreds of times...." They stated.

"You know James? I think it's best to forget about this no one would believe us anyway..." 

"You're right Marco, come on! We've already slacked off a lot. Let's get back to the base.

February 2028, Rocam's imperial palace, party hall.

After the nuclear explosion that wiped out the demon lord, many operations were held to purge the remaning of his forces. An air strike was conducted to his castle but not before having free some prisoners from his dungeon thanks to a SAS raid.

"People of Italy, with joy I announce you that the desplicable leaders of last year's embassy attack have been killed by a joint operation of such propotions that it was never heard in our history: the most important countries of our planet have put aside their differences and rivalries to avenge the victims of that despicable act. The culprits belonged to an organization led by a so called "demon lord", a name that for many of you associate with fantasy tales and nightmares. That person seeked power and wanted war between Earth and the Lomor Empire to exploit that for his own gains but he failed and now justice is done. The battle was hard and many brave soldiers have fallen but they will be honored forever. Goodnight to everyone and long live our republic!" The italian's Presidente della Republic stated on public tv.

In other countries the leaders held similar speeches and while they were being delivered peace meetings were being held in the party hall of the imperial palace that would have defined a new world order: the foreign ministers of Earth's prominent countries were there together with the the emperor Rotar and the leaders of the Solat Alliance that weren't so happy to be there in front of their old enemy and those "barbarians" beloning to another world.
