minho had always been the type of person who excelled at anything he set his mind to. he was known for his impeccable precision in dance, his swift wit that often left people laughing, and his ability to excel in any endeavor he took on. nut drawing? well, that was a different story.

it had all started on a lazy sunday morning. jisung, who had woken up about half an hour ago but was still finding it difficult to open his eyes fully, was curled up on their couch, flipping through his phone, while minho sat at the kitchen table, eyes narrowed in concentration.

a blank sheet of paper lay in front of minho, and scattered around the table were colored pencils, markers, and a few sheets of crumpled paper from his earlier attempts.

jisung had noticed how quiet minho was, so he lifted his head from his phone and looked at minhos direction.

"what are you doing, babe?" jisung had asked with a sleepy smile, propping himself up on his elbow to look over at minho.

minho, tongue sticking out slightly in concentration, didn't look up from his work. "trying to draw," he muttered, sketching out a shape that vaguely resembled a cat... or maybe a potato. "it's not going so well."

jisung chuckled, eyes crinkling fondly. "you're drawing?"

"yeah," minho said, his voice laced with the tiniest hint of embarrassment. "I thought it might be fun."

it wasn't the first time minho had casually decided to pick up a new hobby. jisung had seen him try his hand at knitting once (which lasted about three days), baking (which had become a shared passion), and even pottery (which ended with more clay on the floor than anywhere else).

but drawing was new, and jisung couldn't help but feel a burst of affection for his boyfriend's determination.

minho sat hunched over the table for hours that day, scribbling and muttering under his breath. the end result? a lopsided sun, a wobbly tree, and a cat that looked more like a cloud with legs.

jisung couldn't hold back the giggle that escaped him when minho proudly presented his work.

"hey!" minho had said, feigning offense. "it's a masterpiece."

"it's beautiful," jisung said through his laughter, tugging minho into a hug. he pressed a soft kiss to minho's forehead, smiling when he felt the older boy relax into his arms. "you're so talented, baby, you know that?"

"yeah, yeah," minho grumbled, cheeks flushing slightly at the compliment, though he clearly enjoyed the attention.

from that day on, drawing became something minho did whenever he had some downtime. he wasn't good at it, not by any means, but there was something about the simplicity of it that made him want to keep going.

it wasn't like dancing, where every movement had to be perfect, or baking, where measurements were crucial. drawing was freeing in its imperfection, and minho found comfort in that.

and jisung loved watching him draw. there was something undeniably sweet about the way minho would sit at their tiny kitchen table, his brow furrowed in concentration as he tried to get the proportions just right.

every now and then, minho would ask for jisung's opinion, holding up a drawing with a proud, hopeful smile.

"is this a cat or a dog?" minho had asked once, showing jisung a drawing of a... well, something.

jisung had squinted at the paper, biting back a laugh. "uh, a dog?"

minho had frowned. "it's supposed to be a cat."
