minho woke up to the soft rustling of sheets and the warm, familiar scent of freshly baked pastries drifting into the room. his eyelashes fluttered open, and the first thing he saw was jisung's beaming face, barely inches away from his own.
"good morning, my love," jisung whispered, his voice warm and sweet.
minho blinked sleepily, his lips curling into a smile as leaned down and pressed gentle kisses all over his face - his forehead, his cheeks, his nose, the corners of his mouth. minho giggled softly, his cheeks already flushed pink.
"ji, what's all this?" he murmured, his voice raspy with sleep.
"shh, just let me spoil you today, baby," jisung said, brushing back a strand of minho's dark hair. his tone was full of mischief but laced with affection.
jisung reached over to the bedside table and grabbed a small bouquet of pastel-colored flowers. "for you. because you deserve all the flowers in the world."
minho sat up, cradling the bouquet in his hands like it was the most precious thing he'd ever received. he sniffed the flowers, his eyes shining with gratitude. "you're too sweet," he said softly.
"and you're too cute," jisung countered, grinning as he leaned down to press another kiss to minho's temple. "now, come on, sleepyhead. I've got breakfast for you."
before minho could respond, jisung slid off the bed and disappeared into the kitchen, only to return moments later with a tray balanced in his hands. on it sat two steaming cups of coffee, croissants, and a little box tied with a ribbon.
"did you get this from that one bakery down the street?" minho asked as jisung set the tray on the bed.
"of course. only the best for my baby," jisung replied, sitting cross-legged beside minho. "but don't open the box yet, okay? that's for later."
minho tilted his head, curious but willing to play along. they ate together, jisung's playful commentary making minho laugh between bites of flaky, buttery croissant.
when breakfast was finished, jisung took minho's hand and smiled softly, a rare seriousness in his eyes. "alright, baby. today's going to be special. I've got something planned, but you have to trust me. okay?"
minho squeezed jisung's hand, his heart swelling with love. "I always trust you."
jisung grinned, his playful demeanour returning. "good! then let's get going. your adventure awaits!"
they stepped out into the crisp morning air, minho's hand firmly clasped in jisung's. the neighbourhood was quiet, the streets lined with trees that swayed gently in the breeze.
jisung stopped in front of their apartment building and pulled a small envelope from his jacket pocket. "here's your first clue," he said, handing it to minho with a flourish.
minho opened the envelope, his lips twitching into a smile as he read the neatly written note:
"where it all began, where you caught me staring at you like an idiot."
minho looked up at jisung, his eyes sparkling with recognition. "the park," he said, his voice soft.
jisung clapped his hands together. "ding, ding, ding! let's go, baby."
the park was only a few blocks away, and as they walked, jisung couldn't resist sneaking little kisses onto minho's cheek. minho pretended to be annoyed, but his smile gave him away.
