minho sighed as he unlocked the door to his new apartment, a box of neatly labeled kitchen supplies balanced in one hand.

he wasn't expecting much - just a quiet, clean space to spend the next year while he saved up for his own place. what he walked into, however, was the complete opposite of quiet and clean.

the first thing that hit him was the music. it wasn't just loud - it was blaring, some chaotic beat that rattled through the thin walls of the apartment. minho winced as he stepped inside and froze at the sight before him.

jisung, his newly assigned roommate, was in the middle of the living room, spinning in circles like a kid on a sugar high.

his oversized hoodie flared out with each turn, and his socked feet skidded on the hardwood floor as he struck what minho could only assume was supposed to be a "cool" pose.

surrounding him were unopened boxes, discarded packing tape, and an empty pizza box teetering on the edge of the coffee table.

minho's eye twitched.

"hey!" he barked, louder than intended, but it was the only way to be heard over the deafening music.

jisung froze mid-spin, his arms outstretched like a dramatic actor caught in a spotlight. he blinked at minho, then grinned wide, not even bothering to turn the music down. "oh, hey! you're here!"

"yeah," minho said flatly, stepping over a pile of bubble wrap. "I live here now, remember?"

jisung laughed, running a hand through his messy hair. "right, right. minho, right? I was gonna clean up, but then I got distracted. you know how it is."

"no," minho replied, setting his box down on the kitchen counter. "I don't." he gestured to the chaos around them. "what is this?"

"organized chaos," jisung said cheerfully. "don't worry, I've got a system."

minho raised an eyebrow. "your system looks like a tornado blew through here."

"hey, that's rude. tornadoes don't order pizza." jisung kicked the empty box toward the trash can, missing completely. he didn't even seem to notice.

minho pinched the bridge of his nose, already feeling a headache coming on. "do you at least have a cleaning schedule?"

jisung tilted his head, like the concept of "cleaning schedule" was a foreign language. "a what now?"

"a cleaning schedule. you know, so this" - minho gestured to the disaster zone - "doesn't happen."

jisung shrugged. "I just clean when I feel like it. keeps things spontaneous."

minho stared at him. "spontaneous," he repeated, deadpan. "you're joking."

"nope." jisung plopped down on the couch, spreading out like he owned the place. "you should try it sometime. it's freeing."

"yeah, no," minho said sharply. "we're not doing that. if we're living together, we need rules. basic ones. like no blasting music at full volume. no leaving garbage everywhere. and definitely no... whatever this is." he waved a hand toward jisung, who was now lounging upside down with his legs over the back of the couch.
