minho's apartment was bathed in warm sunlight streaming through the half-open curtains. the soft hum of activity in the kitchen added to the relaxed atmosphere.

minho stood by the stove, focused on his task of preparing lunch, while the gentle aroma of spices and grilled meat filled the air.

his three cats - soonie, doongie, and dori - roamed lazily around the apartment, occasionally brushing against each other or curling up in sunlit patches on the floor.

jisung, on the other hand, wasn't doing much to help. or at least, not in the traditional sense. he was pressed against minho's back, arms wrapped snugly around his boyfriend's waist, his chin resting on minho's shoulder.

"jisung-ah," minho chuckled softly, glancing over his shoulder. "are you planning to help me cook? or are you just going to stand there charging me with your so-called 'love battery'?"

"I am helping!" jisung protested, tightening his hold and nuzzling into minho's shoulder. "I'm giving you energy! you need it to cook properly."

minho let out a low laugh, the corners of his lips quirking upward. "you're ridiculous."

"ridiculously in love with you, yes," jisung countered smoothly, his voice light but sincere.

minho shook his head, amused, but his heart swelled at jisung's sweetness. "well, if I burn this food because of your so-called 'help,' you're eating it anyway."

"of course, hyung," jisung said with a grin, swaying slightly as he hugged minho tighter. "I'll eat anything you make. even if it's a little burnt."

minho rolled his eyes but didn't push jisung away. truthfully, he didn't mind the clinginess. he found it endearing, the way jisung always wanted to be close.

once lunch was served, the two of them settled at the small dining table in the living room. bowls of steaming rice, neatly grilled meat, and an assortment of side dishes were laid out.

the cats sniffed curiously from a distance before padding away, uninterested in the human food.

jisung was quick to compliment minho's cooking. "this looks amazing, hyung!" he said brightly, his eyes practically sparkling as he picked up his chopsticks.

"of course it does," minho said smugly, taking a seat across from jisung. "you're dating a culinary genius."

jisung laughed, his cheeks puffing slightly as he smiled. "you're so full of yourself, but it's true. I don't know what I'd do without your cooking."

minho hummed, pleased, and focused on his own plate. for a while, the room was filled with the quiet clink of chopsticks and soft conversation about their day.

it wasn't until minho heard a small huff from jisung's side of the table that he looked up. jisung was frowning slightly, his brows furrowed as he struggled to grab a piece of meat with his chopsticks.

"what are you doing?"mMinho asked, raising an eyebrow.

jisung glanced up at him, his expression sheepish. "eating."

minho's eyes narrowed. "with your left hand?"

jisung's face flushed a light pink as he nodded. "yeah." he whispered, voice soft.

"why?" minho pressed, his curiosity piqued as he eyed the chopsticks in jisung's left hand.

jisung looked down at his plate, focusing intently on the stubborn piece of meat. "because... you're eating with your left hand, and I don't want you to feel different."

minho froze, his chopsticks hovering mid-air. the simplicity of jisung's words hit him like a gentle wave, tugging at his chest.

he stared at his boyfriend, whose face was now red with embarrassment as he kept his attention on his plate, still trying to grab the piece of meat, unsuccessfully.

"you're unbelievable," minho said softly, setting his chopsticks down.

jisung looked up at him, his cheeks still flushed. "what?"

minho shook his head, a small smile tugging at his lips. "come here."

jisung blinked, confused, but he obeyed. he stood and walked around the table to minho's side. before he could say anything, minho reached out, pulling jisung down to sit on his lap.

"hyung!" jisung squeaked, startled, hands flying to grip on minho's shoulders to support himself. "what are you-"

minho silenced him with a quick kiss to his lips. "you're too sweet for your own good, you know that?"

jisung's blush deepened, but he smiled shyly. "I just... I wanted to make you feel comfortable."

minho's heart swelled, and he wrapped his arms around jisung's waist, holding him close. "you're already the reason I feel comfortable, jisung-ah. you don't need to go out of your way like that."

"but-"

"no buts," minho interrupted, pressing a kiss to jisung's temple. "you're perfect just the way you are."

jisung melted into minho's embrace, his arms winding around minho's neck. "you're the best, hyung."

"I know," minho teased, earning a soft laugh from jisung.

for a moment, they stayed like that, wrapped up in each other, the rest of the world fading away. the warmth of the apartment, the faint sound of the cats padding around, and the lingering aroma of lunch created a bubble of peace around them.

finally, minho shifted, nudging jisung gently. "come on, let's finish eating before the food gets cold."

"okay," jisung said softly, but he didn't move right away. instead, he leaned forward, pressing a quick kiss to minho's cheek before sliding off his lap and returning to his seat.

as they resumed their meal, minho couldn't help but watch jisung, who was now eating with his right hand (he didn't give up, he will train more some other time), with a fond smile. his boyfriend was a whirlwind of softness and sincerity, and minho felt incredibly lucky to have him by his side.

---
after lunch, they moved to the couch, jisung curling up against minho's side like a contented cat. soonie, doongie, and dori seemed to take this as their cue, hopping onto the couch and settling around them.

"hyung?" jisung murmured, his head resting on minho's shoulder.

"hmm?" minho replied, stroking jisung's hair absentmindedly.

"do you think we'll be like this forever?" jisung's voice was quiet, almost hesitant.

minho's hand stilled for a moment before he turned slightly to press a kiss to the top of jisung's head. "of course we will. why do you ask?"

"I don't know," jisung admitted, his fingers playing with the hem of minho's shirt. "sometimes I just... worry. like, what if something changes?"

minho tilted jisung's chin up so their eyes met. "the only thing that's going to change is how much more I fall for you every day."

jisung's lips parted slightly, his eyes shining with unshed tears. "hyung..."

"hey," minho said gently, brushing a thumb across jisung's cheek. "no tears, okay? we're happy. and we'll stay happy because I'm not letting you go anywhere."

jisung sniffled softly but nodded, a small smile breaking through. "you promise?"

"I promise," minho said firmly, sealing the vow with a kiss.

jisung relaxed, his worries easing as he melted into minho's arms once again.

and as the afternoon sun continued to bathe the room in its warm glow, minho held him close, silently thanking the universe for the love they shared.
