-------------------it was a lazy sunday afternoon, and the air was filled with a gentle warmth that promised the early bloom of spring.
jisung and minho sat side by side on their favourite spot - their little balcony. the small space was barely big enough for the two chairs they had squeezed together, but that didn't matter. it never did.
the view wasn't special either; it overlooked a row of other apartments, and if they craned their necks, they could just make out a bit of the park at the end of the street. but it was theirs, their corner of the world, and that was enough.
jisung leaned his head against minho's shoulder, a soft sigh escaping his lips. minho glanced down at him, a fond smile tugging at his mouth despite himself. "tired, love?" he asked, his voice low and filled with a tenderness he only ever used when they were alone like this.
jisung nodded, rubbing his cheek against the fabric of minho's hoodie. "just a bit, minnie," he murmured. the nickname was one of his favourites, a reminder of the soft, gentle side of minho that he cherished so much. "but it's a good tired."
minho hummed in agreement, his hand slipping up to ruffle jisung's hair affectionately. "you worked hard this week," he replied, his voice softer than the spring breeze.
jisung always did. he was always pushing himself, always moving forward with that bright, unstoppable energy that seemed to shine from him like sunlight. minho had loved that about him from the start - the way he could make even the hardest days feel just a little bit easier.
jisung smiled at the touch, his eyes fluttering shut. "but now it's our time," he whispered, snuggling closer.
minho's heart swelled at those words. how had he gotten so lucky? how had he found someone who made him feel like this, who made the whole world seem softer and brighter and kinder?
minho never considered himself a soft person. not before jisung. he had always been guarded, a little distant, the kind of person who kept his walls high and his heart protected. but with jisung... with jisung, it was different. jisung had a way of slipping past his defences like sunlight through a crack in the curtains.
before minho knew it, jisung was everywhere - in his thoughts, in his heart, in the quiet moments of his life that suddenly didn't feel so quiet anymore.
he didn't mind, though. he didn't mind at all.
minho's hand moved to jisung's cheek, his thumb brushing softly across his skin. "I'm glad," he murmured. "I'm glad we're here together." the words were simple, but they held a depth of meaning that only jisung could truly understand.
jisung's eyes opened slowly, and he looked up at minho, his smile soft and genuine. "me too," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper. "I wouldn't want to be anywhere else."
for a moment, they just sat there in the quiet, the world around them falling away until it was just the two of them, in their small, imperfect corner of the world.
jisung could feel the steady beat of minho's heart against his shoulder, and it made him feel safe in a way that nothing else ever could. minho's arms wrapped around him, pulling him closer, and jisung let out a soft, contented sigh.
"you're so warm, minho," he murmured, his voice filled with sleepy affection. "like a big, cozy blanket."
minho chuckled softly, his breath ruffling jisung's hair. "and you're like a kitten," he teased gently, pressing a soft kiss to the top of jisung's head. "always looking for a warm place to curl up."
jisung giggled at that, his face lighting up with that bright, beautiful smile that minho loved so much. "maybe I just like being close to you," he replied playfully, his fingers tracing lazy patterns on minho's chest.
minho's heart did a little flip at those words, and he tightened his arms around jisung, pulling him even closer. "yeah?" he asked, his voice a little softer now, a little more vulnerable. "you like being close to me?"
jisung nodded, his smile growing even wider. "of course I do," he said. "I love being close to you, minho. I love everything about you."
minho felt his cheeks warm at that, and he ducked his head slightly, trying to hide the way his face was flushing. "you're such a sap," he muttered, but there was no heat in his words, only fondness. so much fondness.
jisung laughed softly, his eyes sparkling with amusement. "maybe I am," he agreed easily. "but you love it."
minho couldn't help the small smile that tugged at his lips. "yeah," he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. "yeah, I do."
they fell into a comfortable silence again, the kind that only comes from years of knowing someone so completely, of loving them so deeply.
jisung closed his eyes once more, letting himself relax fully in minho's embrace. there was something so incredibly comforting about being held like this, about the way minho's arms wrapped around him so securely, so protectively. it made him feel safe. so, so safe.
minho buried his face in jisung's hair, inhaling the sweet, familiar scent of him. he loved the way jisung smelled, like fresh laundry and something soft and floral, something uniquely him. it was intoxicating in the best way.
"you know," minho began, his voice low and quiet, "I never thought I'd have this."
jisung tilted his head back to look up at him, his brow furrowing slightly in confusion. "have what?" he asked.
minho hesitated for a moment, his gaze dropping to where his hand was resting on jisung's back, his fingers tracing absent-minded circles. "this," he said finally, his voice barely above a whisper. "someone who... makes me feel like this."
jisung's expression softened, and he reached up to cup minho's cheek, his thumb brushing gently against his skin. "like what?" he asked softly.
minho swallowed hard, his heart thudding in his chest. "happy," he admitted quietly. "safe. loved."
jisung's smile was so tender, so filled with warmth, that minho felt his chest tighten with emotion. "you deserve to feel all those things," jisung said softly. "you deserve to feel so much happiness, minho. and I'm going to make sure you do. every single day."
minho felt a lump form in his throat, and he blinked rapidly, trying to keep his emotions in check. "you're too good to me," he whispered.
jisung shook his head, his smile never faltering. "I'm just right for you," he replied. "and you're just right for me."
minho couldn't help the small chuckle that escaped him at that. "you're ridiculous," he muttered, but there was no hiding the affection in his voice.
jisung just grinned. "maybe," he agreed. "but you love that about me, too."
minho sighed, his smile softening. "yeah," he admitted. "yeah, I really do."
