jisung had been sitting on the couch, his legs curled up underneath him, scrolling through recipe videos on his phone.

the cheerful music and mesmerizing shots of perfectly baked cookies made his mouth water, and an idea began forming in his head.

baking sounded fun. and even better - it sounded fun with minho. the thought of spending a cozy afternoon in their kitchen, laughing and making something delicious, filled his chest with warmth.

"minho-yah," jisung called, looking up from his phone.

minho was at the dining table, his laptop open and a pen in his hand, scribbling notes for something work-related.

but at the sound of jisung's voice, he turned immediately, his eyes softening as he caught sight of his boyfriend.

"hmm? what is it, love?" minho asked, closing his laptop without hesitation and giving jisung his full attention.

jisung shuffled over, his phone still in hand. he plopped down in the chair next to minho, his bright eyes wide with excitement. "what if we baked something together? like cookies? or a cake?"

minho raised an eyebrow, a small smile tugging at his lips. "baking, huh? feeling ambitious today, sungie?"

jisung pouted, crossing his arms. "I'm serious! I think it'd be fun. you're good at cooking, and I... I can help with the easy parts. plus, I found this recipe, and it looks so cute!" he thrust his phone in minho's direction, showing a picture of cookies decorated with colourful icing.

minho chuckled, the sound warm and fond. he leaned over to press a kiss to jisung's forehead. "alright, darling. let's bake. you get the recipe, and I'll handle the heavy lifting."

jisung lit up at the agreement, practically bouncing in his seat. "yes! this is going to be so much fun!"

half an hour later, the kitchen was a flurry of activity. bowls, spoons, and ingredients cluttered the countertops, and the two of them worked side by side.

minho had tied an apron around jisung, pulling the strings snugly and making a comment about how cute he looked. jisung had blushed but grinned, secretly loving the attention.

"okay, step one," minho said, glancing at the recipe on jisung's phone. "we need to cream the butter and sugar together. sungie, can you handle that while I measure out the flour?"

"got it!" jisung chirped. he grabbed the bowl of softened butter and the sugar, his tongue poking out in concentration as he combined them. he began stirring with a wooden spoon, his movements a bit clumsy but enthusiastic.

minho watched out of the corner of his eye, smiling to himself. jisung's hair kept falling into his face, and minho reached out to tuck it behind his ear. "you're doing great, sweetheart," he murmured, pressing a kiss to jisung's temple.

jisung beamed up at him, his cheeks dusted pink. "thanks, hyung. I just hope I don't mess it up."

"you won't," minho reassured him. "and even if you do, it's not the end of the world. we're just having fun."

jisung nodded, reassured, and went back to stirring. they continued working, laughing and teasing each other as they moved through the recipe.

jisung was in charge of cracking the eggs, and minho couldn't stop himself from laughing when a bit of shell fell into the batter.
