the clock seemed to move slower the more jisung looked at it. every few minutes, his eyes would drift toward the small digital display in the corner of his monitor, only for him to sigh when he realized barely any time had passed.
he tried to force himself to concentrate on the designs in front of him, adjusting the spacing between two elements and then changing it back when he decided the first version had actually looked better, but his thoughts kept wandering back to the conversation in minho's office.
he was going on a date.
the thought alone was enough to make another smile creep onto his face, and jisung quickly ducked his head when he noticed felix looking in his direction.
he pretended to be intensely focused on the screen, moving his mouse around and clicking through different layers even though he wasn't really doing anything.
felix watched him for another second before returning to his own work, apparently deciding not to question the sudden change in jisung's mood.
the afternoon eventually crawled toward its end, and one by one, people around the office began finishing their tasks. chairs shifted back from desks, keyboards became quieter, and conversations slowly started appearing between the employees who had spent most of the day pretending not to be exhausted.
jisung saved his work carefully before closing the programs on his computer, checking twice that everything had been backed up before he finally leaned back in his chair.
"finally," changbin sighed from nearby, stretching his arms above his head until his shoulders cracked. "i thought today was never going to end."
jisung smiled faintly as he packed his things into his bag. "you say that every day."
"because every day is too long," changbin replied with complete seriousness, pushing himself out of his chair. he glanced toward the ceo's office, where the blinds were still closed, and lowered his voice slightly. "is minho still in there?"
jisung's hands paused for half a second before he continued putting his things away. "probably."
changbin narrowed his eyes at him, clearly noticing something in jisung's expression but not quite figuring out what it was. "why are you smiling?"
"i'm not."
"you are."
"i'm literally not."
felix looked over from his desk and immediately started laughing when he saw the two of them arguing. "he's definitely smiling," he said, pushing his chair back. "he's been smiling for the past hour."
jisung's cheeks warmed again, and he quickly zipped his bag closed. "both of you need to mind your own business."
changbin raised his hands in surrender, but his grin only grew. "okay, okay. i'm not saying anything."
"good."
changbin gave him one last suspicious look before turning back toward his own desk, although the grin on his face made it obvious that he wasn't actually going to forget about it.
jisung tried not to pay attention to him, sliding the strap of his bag over his shoulder and checking his phone one last time before leaving.
he had barely taken two steps away from his desk when his phone buzzed in his pocket, and the sudden vibration made him stop near the end of the row of desks.
