-------------------the soft hum of the heater filled the small, cozy living room, where the golden glow of a nearby lamp bathed the space in warmth. the air smelled faintly of vanilla from the candle burning on the coffee table, and the only other sounds were occasional bursts of giggles and the faint rustle of paper.
minho was sitting cross-legged on the floor, his back pressed against the edge of the couch. his arms were crossed tightly over his chest, and his mouth was drawn into a pout. his usually sharp, feline eyes were narrowed as he stared at the man kneeling in front of him.
"han jisung," he said, his voice low and warning, "I did not agree to this."
jisung, kneeling on the floor mere inches away, let out another laugh, bright and full of affection. his eyes crinkled at the corners, and his face radiated joy.
he had a small sheet of colorful stickers in one hand and was busily peeling another off with the other. without so much as looking up, he replied, "you didn't have to, minnie. I know you secretly love it."
minho's lips twitched, threatening to betray him with a smile. he tightened his crossed arms and scoffed, looking away. "love? hah. hardly. you're making me look ridiculous."
jisung leaned in closer, his lips pulling into a mischievous grin. "ridiculously cute, maybe," he teased, his voice light and sing-song. he carefully pressed a sparkly cat sticker onto minho's cheek, his fingers lingering just a second longer than necessary.
"adorable," jisung said with a giggle, sitting back to admire his handiwork.
minho rolled his eyes, but his cheeks burned, the warmth spreading up to his ears. "you're impossible," he muttered, his tone lacking the bite he intended.
"you're impossible for letting me do this," jisung shot back, unabashed. he peeled off another sticker, this one shaped like a star, and stuck it to minho's other cheek. his voice softened as he added, "but that's why I love you, my grumpy kitten."
the corners of minho's mouth twitched again. he was trying so hard to maintain his annoyed façade, but it was becoming increasingly difficult.
jisung caught the movement and smirked. "aww, are you smiling? are you enjoying this, minho?"
"absolutely not," minho deadpanned, though his voice betrayed him with a slight quiver of amusement.
"liar," jisung whispered playfully, leaning in closer until their noses almost touched. minho could feel the warmth of his breath and see the sparkle in his eyes up close.
jisung pressed another sticker onto minho's forehead - this one a little heart. then, without warning, he leaned forward and kissed it softly.
minho's eyes widened briefly before fluttering shut. "you're insufferable," he murmured, his voice so soft it was barely audible.
jisung pulled back just enough to see minho's face, his grin widening. "but you love me."
minho sighed dramatically, finally allowing a small smile to grace his lips. "unfortunately."
"unfortunately, my butt," jisung said, laughing again. he reached for minho's arm, gently tugging it away from where it was crossed over his chest. "come on, let me see. I've got some dinosaur stickers that will look perfect on you."
minho allowed his arm to be moved, his expression somewhere between exasperation and fondness. "why dinosaurs?"
"because you're a t-rex," jisung said immediately, sticking a tiny green dinosaur on minho's wrist.
"a t-rex?" minho repeated, raising an eyebrow.
"yup. big roar, tiny arms," jisung said, mimicking a t-rex's movements with his hands. he burst out laughing at his own joke, his joy so infectious that even minho let out a soft chuckle.
"you're ridiculous," minho said, shaking his head.
"and you're letting me cover you in stickers, so what does that make you?" jisung countered with a cheeky grin.
"a fool, clearly," minho replied, though his smile betrayed his words.
the two of them fell into a comfortable rhythm, with jisung carefully placing stickers on minho's face and arms, and minho pretending to protest every now and then.
when jisung reached for a particularly large sticker - a pink bunny holding a carrot - minho caught his wrist.
"no," he said firmly.
"why not?" jisung pouted, looking genuinely hurt.
"it's too big," minho replied, though his hold on jisung's wrist was gentle.
"but it's cute," jisung argued, leaning closer.
minho sighed, his resolve crumbling. "fine. but only because you're cute."
jisung's eyes lit up, and he leaned forward to press a kiss to minho's cheek. "you're the best, min," he said softly, his voice filled with so much affection it made minho's chest tighten.
as jisung carefully placed the bunny sticker on minho's arm, he said, "you know, you should let me do this more often. you look so happy with all these stickers."
"happy?" minho repeated, raising an eyebrow.
"yeah," jisung said with a nod. "you look happy because you're letting me do something I enjoy. and that's what makes you the best boyfriend ever."
minho's heart swelled at the words, and without thinking, he reached out and cupped jisung's face in his hands. "you're too sweet for your own good," he murmured, leaning in to press a soft kiss to jisung's forehead.
jisung's cheeks turned pink, and he leaned into minho's touch. "only for you," he whispered.
the moment stretched between them, filled with warmth and unspoken love.
jisung broke the silence with a giggle. "okay, your turn!"
"my turn?" minho asked, tilting his head.
"to put stickers on me!" jisung said, holding out a fresh sheet of stickers.
minho smirked, a mischievous glint in his eyes. "oh, you're going to regret that, sweetheart."
jisung's giggles turned into outright laughter as minho grabbed the sheet and got to work. he stuck a glittery star on jisung's nose, a smiley face on his forehead, and a random assortment of hearts and flowers on his cheeks.
when he was finished, minho leaned back and admired his work. "there," he said with a satisfied smile. "now you're the adorable one."
jisung beamed, his face glowing with happiness. "see? I told you stickers are fun!"
minho chuckled, pulling jisung into his arms and pressing a kiss to the top of his head. "you're the fun one," he said softly.
they stayed like that for a while, wrapped up in each other's warmth, the world outside forgotten.
and as jisung rested his head against minho's chest, he couldn't help but think that moments like these - filled with laughter, love, and a little bit of silliness - were what made their relationship so special.
