-------------------it had been a little over a month since jisung and minho had officially started dating. the relationship was still new, still delicate, but it already felt like something incredibly precious.
jisung, with his soft giggles and shy smiles, had invited minho over to his apartment for the first time, a gesture that felt both intimate and vulnerable.
the small act of opening up his personal space - a space he shared with someone very important - was a big step for jisung, and it wasn't one he took lightly.
they walked hand in hand toward jisung's building, their fingers loosely intertwined. the cool evening air wrapped around them, but jisung barely noticed the chill. he was too preoccupied with the nervous fluttering in his chest. minho, always so perceptive, glanced down at him and gave his hand a reassuring squeeze.
"you okay, sungie?" he asked, his tone gentle but teasing. "you're all fidgety. am I that scary?"
jisung's eyes widened, and he shook his head quickly, his soft brown hair falling into his eyes. "no, hyung! it's not that," he said, his voice rushed. "it's just... this is your first time coming over, and I want you to feel comfortable. and there's someone I really want you to meet..."
"someone?" minho raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a small smirk. "I'm not about to meet some secret boyfriend, am I?"
jisung gasped, his cheeks puffing out in an adorable pout as he swatted at minho's arm with his free hand. "hyung! don't say stuff like that! you're the only one I want to bring here."
minho chuckled, pulling jisung closer as they approached the door to his building. "I'm just teasing, sungie," he said softly. "I can't wait to meet whoever it is."
jisung's pout quickly melted into a shy smile. his cheeks were still a little pink as he led minho inside, up the elevator, and to the door of his apartment.
he fumbled slightly with his keys, his nerves making his usually steady hands clumsy. minho waited patiently behind him, his presence steady and grounding.
when the door finally opened, jisung stepped inside first, flipping on the lights and gesturing for minho to follow. "welcome to my humble abode," he said with a little laugh, though there was an undertone of nervousness in his voice.
minho stepped in and took in the space. it was small but cozy, with warm lighting, soft blankets draped over the couch, and little personal touches everywhere.
photos hung on the walls - some of jisung with friends, others of landscapes - and a small collection of knick-knacks lined the shelves.
what caught minho's attention, though, was the scattering of cat toys near the living room corner and a scratching post near the window.
"you weren't kidding about someone waiting for me," minho said, his eyes lighting up with curiosity. he shrugged off his coat and hung it on the rack near the door. "where's this mystery guest?"
jisung didn't answer right away. minho turned to see him crouched on the floor near the corner of the living room, his back to minho. his voice, when it came, was softer than minho had ever heard it before.
"hey, baby. how is my princess?" jisung cooed, his tone warm and impossibly tender.
minho stepped closer, watching as jisung scooped up a fluffy white cat from a cozy nest of blankets.
the cat was small and impossibly soft-looking, her fur white as snow. she let out a soft, melodic meow as jisung lifted her into his arms. her head immediately tucked into the crook of jisung's arm, as if she already trusted him completely.
