the early morning light was soft and pale, the kind that slipped gently through thin curtains and warmed the room in a slow, unhurried way. the air still held the comfortable quiet of dawn, broken only by the soft rustling of sheets and the distant hum of the city waking up outside.

minho stood near the small dresser by the window, rolling the sleeves of his crisp white shirt, preparing for another day filled with meetings, reports, and the constant pressure of running a company. it was part of his life, a part he handled with precision and discipline.

but the part he treasured most was right behind him - jisung, who lingered in the warmth of their shared morning routine like sunlight he could touch.

jisung stepped closer with soft footsteps, the faint smell of mint from his toothpaste still hanging in the air. his hair was slightly tousled, cheeks flushed with the lingering warmth of sleep.

he approached minho with that familiar, bright fondness in his eyes, the kind that softened minho’s edges no matter how high the walls he built around himself were.

“have a great day at work, min,” jisung said, his voice gentle. then he leaned in, pressing a warm kiss against minho’s cheek, lingering just a second longer than necessary. his arms wrapped around minho’s neck like they belonged there - because they did.

minho felt the corners of his mouth lift into a smile before he even realized it. jisung always had that effect on him, the ability to coax unfiltered affection out of him without trying.

minho turned in his arms and pulled jisung closer, holding him securely by the waist. jisung’s cheek brushed against his collarbone before settling comfortably against the side of his neck, their bodies fitting naturally together as though every morning had been carved out just for them.

minho breathed in slowly, letting his cheek rest lightly on top of jisung’s head. “thank you, baby,” he whispered, the pet name slipping out with a mix of warmth and sincerity he rarely used with anyone else.

he exhaled a soft sigh when he felt jisung tilt his head and press a featherlight kiss to the side of his neck, right at the sensitive spot that always made him relax. jisung smiled against his skin, the curve of his lips unmistakable.

“mm, you’re warm,” jisung murmured, punctuating the words with another kiss - this one even softer than the last. minho could feel the faint tickle of jisung’s breath and the quiet, contented hum vibrating from him.

it was moments like these that slowed down the world for minho. even as the weight of the day waited on him, jisung’s touch made everything feel lighter.

“you’re supposed to be letting me go, you know,” minho said with a small laugh, though he didn’t loosen his grip in the slightest.

jisung pulled back just enough to look up at him, their noses nearly touching. “i know,” he said, his tone full of mock innocence. “but i don’t want to.” he pressed another kiss to minho’s jaw, quick and playful this time. “you’ll be gone all day.”

“i’ll come back,” minho reassured him softly, brushing a thumb across jisung’s cheek. “you always act like i’m leaving for weeks.”

“it feels like weeks,” jisung mumbled, leaning in again like he intended to bury himself in minho’s chest.

after a few more slow kisses - ones that trailed from minho’s jaw to the base of his neck, ones that made minho’s breath catch in the faintest, almost inaudible way - they finally separated. though really, it felt like they were pulling two magnets apart. minho reluctantly let his hands fall away from jisung’s waist as he reached for his suit jacket draped neatly over the back of a chair.
