officer minho had been assigned to this district for almost two years now. it was one of the wealthier parts of the city, lined with high-rise apartments, designer boutiques, and restaurants where a single meal cost more than his monthly grocery bill.
crime rates weren't high - no gang activity, no violent offences - but that didn't mean his job was easy. no, his biggest headache wasn't criminals.
it was the spoiled rich kids who thought the streets were their personal racetrack.
and at the top of that list? han jisung.
minho had lost count of how many times he'd pulled jisung over. the guy - because really, he wasn't a kid, despite acting like one - was in his early twenties and had a reckless streak a mile wide. not reckless enough to lose his license, but just enough to keep pushing minho's patience.
jisung had mastered the art of skirting just under the line of serious consequences, treating every speeding ticket like a joke, an inconvenience rather than a real punishment.
even worse, he was smart about it. he knew the patrol routes. knew when minho's shift ended. knew which roads were less likely to have cops lurking around the corner.
but minho had a sharp eye. and no matter how careful jisung was, minho always caught him. or maybe, jisung wanted minho to caught him.
tonight was no different.
the roar of an engine cut through the relative quiet of the district, a sleek black sports car tearing down the boulevard just a little too fast to be safe.
minho recognized it instantly. he exhaled through his nose, already reaching for the switch as he flicked on his siren, the red and blue lights flashing in the night.
the sports car skidded slightly before slowing to a stop near the curb.
minho sighed as he put his patrol car in park and stepped out, adjusting the belt at his waist as he walked toward the driver's side. he already knew what he was in for.
the window rolled down smoothly, revealing han jisung in all his infuriating glory - one hand draped lazily over the steering wheel, head tilted, a knowing smirk playing on his lips.
"officer lee," jisung drawled, his voice tinged with amusement. "fancy meeting you here. almost feels like fate, huh?"
minho exhaled sharply. not this again.
"license and registration," he said, tone flat, already bracing himself for the inevitable back-and-forth.
jisung chuckled, unfazed, as he reached for the glove compartment. "you really don't get tired of pulling me over, do you?" he handed the documents over, eyes glinting with mischief. "or maybe," he mused, tilting his head, "you just like seeing me."
minho ignored the comment, flipping through the documents with a practiced eye. everything was in order - of course, it was. jisung might have had a blatant disregard for speed limits, but he wasn't stupid enough to drive without proper paperwork.
jisung, on the other hand, took his time eyeing minho up and down. minho was hot. maybe it was because of the tight navy blue uniform, the way his sleeves were rolled up his forearms, the veins visible, or maybe it was because this was minho - sharp jawline, serious eyes, controlled moves. it was driving jisung crazy.
