jisung looked at where his mom was sitting on one of the benches along with the other parents, talking about something with another woman.

his favourite stuffed animal, a small worn-out bunny, was carefully placed next to his mom's bag. it has this pretty light green scarf wrapped around its neck. its fur was not as white as it was when his mom and dad first gave it to him, but it was still soft when he touched it.

it was his comfort thing. if he was happy, he would cuddle it. if he was scared, he would cuddle it. if he was sad, he would cuddle it. if he was angry, he would cuddle it. if he just feels like it, he would cuddle it.

jisung stood up from where he was sitting on one of the swings and ran to the bench his mother have been sitting on.

he was there in seconds and immediately picked up his bunny, cuddling it close to his small frame.

his mother noticed him and smiled down at him, reaching out to ruffle his hair. "hey, sweetheart," she looked down, noticing her son hugging the plushie. "everything alright?" she added, her eyes finding jisung's.

jisung blinked up at her before burying his face in her mother's side, as if hiding from the world.

his mom cooed as she wrapped her arms around jisung's frame, lifting him up to sit him in her lap. she held him close, stroking his hair and placing a soft kiss on top of his head. "are you having fun, baby? have you made some friends?" she hummed, her voice soft as she talked to jisung.

jisung lifted his head from where it was buried in his mother's chest and looked up at her with his wide eyes. he then turned to look at all the kids playing at the playground and then at the empty swings he was sitting at.

his eyes returned to his mom's face as he shook his head 'no'. his mom sighed and brushed jisung's hair away from his forehead. "why don't you go talk to someone, baby? it would be more fun, don't you think?" she tried.

jisung was always like this. on his own. it was starting to worry his parents a little. he was six years old, and in those two years in kindergarten, he had never talked to any other kid. he was hardly speaking ever, just a few words when someone was speaking to him - his parents, mostly.

he was always just quietly playing with his stuffed bunny. when they were having someone over to their house, he would go in his room right after he greeted the visitors (with a small, shy nod. no words)

he would start going to school next year and his parents were worried. because you need to talk in school. it was not that big of a deal in the kindergarten, but it was a whole new story in the school. a thousand times more kids, completely new faces of teachers as well.
