The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm golden glow over the chateau as you sat on the porch, still processing the earlier chaos. Rafe had stormed off after the fight, and you hadn't heard from him since. The tension in the air felt palpable, and you couldn't shake the feeling that you needed to talk to him.

Just as you were lost in thought, you heard the familiar sound of footsteps approaching. It was Sarah and Kie, both looking somewhat apprehensive but determined.

"Hey," Sarah said softly, taking a seat beside you. "We wanted to check on you."

"Yeah, we're really sorry about what happened earlier," Kie added, her eyes filled with concern. "Rafe shouldn't have said those things."

You sighed, your heart heavy. "I know he didn't mean it. He just gets so worked up sometimes."

Sarah exchanged a glance with Kie before she spoke again. "We all care about you, and we care about Rafe too. We want to make sure this doesn't come between you guys."

"Do you think we can fix it?" you asked, your voice barely above a whisper. The thought of losing Rafe over something that could be resolved felt unbearable.

"I think so," Sarah said, her voice steady. "But it's going to take a conversation. We all need to be honest about how we feel."

Just then, the sound of a car pulling up caught your attention. You turned to see Rafe stepping out, his expression a mix of frustration and regret. As he approached, your heart raced.

"Hey," he said, looking directly at you. His tone was softer now, the anger from earlier fading. "Can we talk?"

You nodded, standing up to meet him halfway. The Pogues gave you both a knowing glance before retreating a few steps, giving you space.

"Look, I'm sorry," Rafe started, running a hand through his hair. "I shouldn't have reacted that way. I just... I don't want anyone coming between us."

You felt a mix of relief and apprehension. "I get it, but you can't dismiss my friends like that. They care about me, Rafe, and I care about you. We can't let our arguments push us apart."

He sighed, his shoulders dropping slightly. "You're right. I let my emotions get the best of me. I just... I hate the thought of losing you."

"I don't want to lose you either," you admitted, feeling the weight of your words. "But we need to communicate better. I need you to trust that I can have friends without it threatening our relationship."

Rafe stepped closer, his gaze intense but filled with sincerity. "I promise to work on it. I want to support you and be there for you, not push you away. I'm really sorry for how I acted."

You reached out and took his hand, squeezing it gently. "Let's start over? Just the two of us?"

A small smile broke across his face, a hint of relief washing over him. "I'd like that."

The tension that had lingered in the air began to dissipate as the two of you shared a quiet moment, the setting sun casting a warm glow around you. Just then, you felt a pair of eyes watching you. You turned to see Sarah and Kie peeking around the corner of the porch.

"Everything okay?" Sarah asked, her voice lightening the mood.

You nodded, a smile creeping onto your face. "Yeah, we're good."

Kie stepped forward, a teasing grin on her lips. "So, does this mean we can stop hiding from each other now?"

Rafe chuckled, the sound genuine. "Yeah, I think we can manage that."

As laughter filled the air, you felt a sense of warmth and relief wash over you. The rift had been mended, and you knew that with open communication and understanding, your bond with Rafe and the Pogues would only grow stronger.

"Okay, now let's eat," Sarah suggested, grabbing your hand and pulling you toward the kitchen. "We're not letting you two starve."

You glanced back at Rafe, who winked at you, and in that moment, everything felt right again.
