The Cameron house was alive with the spirit of Christmas. Twinkling fairy lights framed the windows, a fire crackled in the fireplace, and the faint scent of cinnamon and pine lingered in the air. You sat cross-legged on the floor in front of the massive Christmas tree, wrapping the last of Savannah's gifts while Rafe stood behind you, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed with a proud smile on his face.

"She's going to love that," he said, nodding toward the tiny tricycle you'd just finished tying a bow on.

You glanced over your shoulder at him, brushing a strand of hair from your face. "You mean we're going to love it when she rides it around the house at top speed and crashes into the furniture?"

Rafe laughed, pushing off the doorframe and walking over to sit beside you. "That's future us's problem. Right now, I just want to see her face light up when she sees this stuff tomorrow."

You grinned, shaking your head. "You're such a softie, you know that?"

He raised an eyebrow, pretending to look offended. "Don't ruin my tough guy reputation, love."

Before you could respond, the sound of tiny feet padding down the hallway caught both your attention.

"Mama? Daddy?"

You turned to see Savannah standing in the doorway, her little face lit up by the warm glow of the tree. She was clutching her favorite stuffed bunny and rubbing her eyes sleepily. Her messy curls framed her chubby cheeks, and your heart melted instantly.

Rafe was already on his feet, walking over to scoop her up. "What are you doing out of bed, little troublemaker?" he teased, kissing her forehead.

"I heawd noises," she mumbled, resting her head on his shoulder.

"That's just Santa's elves wrapping your presents," you said, smiling as you stood up and walked over to them.

Savannah's eyes widened. "Weally?"

"Really," Rafe confirmed, his voice full of playfulness. "But if you don't go back to bed soon, they might tell Santa you were awake."

Savannah gasped dramatically. "Noooo!"

You chuckled, taking her from Rafe and cradling her against you. "Come on, sweet girl. Let's get you back to bed so Santa can finish his work."

Savannah nodded, her little hands gripping your sweater as you carried her back to her room. Rafe followed close behind, watching as you tucked her into bed. You pressed a soft kiss to her forehead and smoothed her curls.

"Night-night, baby," you whispered.

"Night-night, Mama. Night-night, Daddy," she murmured sleepily, her eyes fluttering shut.

Rafe leaned down to kiss her cheek before turning off the bedside lamp, leaving the room lit only by her star-shaped nightlight.

Back in the living room, you collapsed onto the couch with a sigh. "She's too cute for her own good."

Rafe sat down beside you, pulling you into his arms. "She gets it from you."

You rolled your eyes, but a smile tugged at your lips. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Cameron."

"Good thing I'm not trying to get anywhere," he replied, brushing a kiss against your temple.

The two of you sat there for a while, just soaking in the quiet warmth of the moment. The Christmas tree lights reflected in the windows, and the world outside felt peaceful and still.

"Can you believe this is our life?" you murmured, resting your head against his chest.

He tightened his arm around you. "I wouldn't trade it for anything."

A comfortable silence settled between you until Rafe suddenly sat up, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"What?" you asked, narrowing your gaze at him.

He stood and held out his hand. "Come on. I have an idea."

You groaned playfully. "Rafe, it's almost midnight. What could you possibly have in mind?"

"Trust me," he said, pulling you to your feet.

He led you outside into the chilly night air, grabbing a couple of blankets from the porch. The backyard was dusted with a thin layer of frost, and the stars above sparkled like diamonds.

Rafe spread one of the blankets out on the ground and pulled you down with him, wrapping the other blanket around your shoulders.

"This is your big idea? Stargazing in the freezing cold?" you teased, though your tone was warm.

He smirked, pulling you closer. "You're not freezing. You've got me."

You laughed, shaking your head. "You're ridiculous."

"But you love me," he said confidently.

You turned to look at him, the love in his blue eyes stealing your breath. "Yeah, I do."

Rafe smiled, leaning in to kiss you softly. "Merry Christmas, my love."

"Merry Christmas," you whispered, snuggling into his side.

And as you lay there under the stars, wrapped in each other's warmth, you couldn't help but feel like the luckiest person in the world.
