The sun was barely peeking through the curtains when you woke up to the sound of little feet pattering down the hallway. Before you could fully register what was happening, Savannah came bounding into the room, clutching her favorite stuffed bunny and wearing a bright grin that only a two-year-old could manage at such an early hour.

"Mama! Dada!" she squealed, climbing onto the bed and planting herself between you and Rafe.

Rafe groaned, pulling the blanket over his head. "Savannah, it's too early for this," he mumbled, his voice muffled by the covers.

You laughed, gently tugging the blanket away from his face. "It's your fault she's an early riser. You were the one chasing her around last night when she was supposed to be winding down."

Savannah giggled, leaning over to pat Rafe's cheek. "Dada, wake up!"

He sighed dramatically, cracking one eye open to look at her. "Alright, alright. I'm up. What's the emergency?"

Savannah held up her bunny like it was the most important thing in the world. "Bunny wants pancakes!"

You couldn't help but laugh as Rafe sat up, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Well, if Bunny wants pancakes, I guess we have no choice."

The three of you made your way to the kitchen, Savannah perched on Rafe's hip as he peppered her with questions about Bunny's favorite pancake toppings. She responded with a mix of giggles and nonsensical words, and you couldn't help but smile at how patient and playful Rafe was with her.

As Rafe worked on the pancakes, you set the table, occasionally sneaking a glance at the two of them. Savannah was "helping" by handing Rafe ingredients, though she mostly just ended up spilling flour on the counter and smearing syrup on her hands.

"Remind me to teach her proper cooking etiquette when she's older," Rafe said, shooting you a playful grin as he flipped a pancake.

"She's got plenty of time to learn," you replied, walking over to wipe a streak of flour off Savannah's cheek. "For now, she's just your tiny sous chef."

Once breakfast was ready, the three of you sat down to eat. Savannah made a mess as usual, but you and Rafe didn't mind. It was moments like these—simple, chaotic, and full of love—that made everything worth it.

After breakfast, you decided to take Savannah to the park. She ran around with endless energy, her laughter echoing through the air as Rafe chased her across the playground. You watched from a bench, a content smile on your face as you took in the sight of your little family.

"She's got your energy, you know," you called out to Rafe as he finally caught Savannah and swung her into the air.

"Yeah, but she's got your stubbornness," he shot back, carrying Savannah over to you.

You laughed, shaking your head. "Touché."

The afternoon was spent back at the house, building pillow forts and watching cartoons. By the time dinner rolled around, Savannah was starting to wind down. After a quick bath and a bedtime story from Rafe, she was finally asleep, her stuffed bunny tucked snugly under her arm.

You and Rafe retreated to the living room, where the two of you collapsed onto the couch. He pulled you close, his arm draped around your shoulders as you rested your head on his chest.

"Today was good," you said softly, tracing patterns on his shirt.

"Yeah," he agreed, pressing a kiss to your forehead. "It's crazy, but I wouldn't trade it for anything."

You smiled, feeling completely at peace in his arms. As the two of you sat there, the quiet hum of the TV in the background, you couldn't help but think about how lucky you were to have Rafe and Savannah in your life.

"Love you," you murmured, your voice barely above a whisper.

"Love you too, my girl," he replied, holding you a little tighter.

And in that moment, everything felt perfect.
