Catch Me If You Can

In the woods, Matt was frantically trying to run for his life as a vampire was on his tail. He stopped and hid behind a tree as he tried to catch his breath. He checked both left and right and saw nothing, but when he turned his head back, a vampire appeared and attacked him, biting into the soft flesh of his neck. Thankfully, Jeremy appeared and shot the new vampire in the back, the arrow piercing straight through his heart, killing him instantly.

Jeremy quickly rushed forward and ripped the bottom of his t-shirt, pressing the piece of fabric against Matt's wounded neck. "You okay?" He questioned, concerned.

Matt nodded as he took slow, deep breaths. "Yeah, I just need a second."

Jeremy looked at the Donovan boy with wide, fearful eyes. "We don't have a second, Matt. They can smell your blood. We need to go, now!" Hearing a sound behind him, he quickly raised his bow only to be met with the older Salvatore.

"Don't hesitate." Damon scolded. "You're lucky it was me. Otherwise you'd both be dead."

Jeremy frowned as he glared up at the blue-eyed vampire. "You set us up. This is your fault."

"I was trying to get this over and done with. You're the one who pissed off Klaus. Now you have to fight your way out of it." Damon whisper-yelled.

Jeremy took a deep breath before he looked around. "All, right. Where are the other vampire's?" He questioned. He needed to get Matt to safety before he tried to slaughter the newly turned group of night crawlers.

"They're newbies. They're still trying to figure out how to track, which means you have a few seconds to get ready to fight." Damon warned stressfully. The thought of anything happening to the hunter and the quarterback scared him immensely, because he knew how pissed Arabella would be knowing Niklaus Mikaelson got himself involved.

Jeremy turned to Matt. "The lakehouse is this way. If we can get there, they won't be able to get inside." He rushed out in a whisper.

"Wait?" Damon furrowed his brows and gripped Jeremy's shoulder, spinning him around to face him. "You want to run?"

"They're going to kill Matt." Jeremy stressed. "We need to get him to safety and we need to do it now!"

Damon hesitated for a moment as he contemplated what to do. "Fine." He huffed. "Get out of here. I'll slow them down."

Jeremy grabbed Matt's arm and pushed him in the direction of the lakehouse before they both took off in a run. A vampire charged at them and Damon quickly ripped out his heart.

"Jeremy! Where are you?" Matt yelled as he ran through the dark forest.

"Keep going." Jeremy called out as he followed behind, pushing away the tree branches. "We're almost there."

Out of nowhere, a vampire tripped up the Donovan boy and he fell to the ground. The vampire stared at Matt hungrily before he gripped him by his feet and dragged him across the ground, pulling him closer towards him. He screamed and struggled as the vampire lunged forward to try and bite him. All of a sudden a cracking sound echoed and the vampire dropped to the ground revealing the green-eyed Petrova witch.

"Are you okay?" She questioned in concern as she helped him up. Her eyes zeroed in on his blood covered neck and she started to panic "Oh my god..."

Suddenly, Jeremy emerged from the bushes. "Get to the house! Hurry!"

Arabella quickly gripped both of their hands and used her magic to send them straight to the Lakehouse.

Appearing in the living room of the house, Jeremy stared wide-eyed at his older sister. "It's just a new trick I learnt. Anyway... What the fuck is going on?" She questioned in a stern tone.
