Arabella and Damon were walking down the crowded streets of New York. The older Salvatore had just explained to the brunette all about his time in the 70s, when he last visited the big city. He could tell she was only half listening to the story as her eyes were pre-occupied scanning the bustling streets.
Arabella shrugged off Damon's hand that was resting on her lower back and glared across at her raven-haired husband. "So, you dragged me all the way to New York because you were feeling nostalgic?"
Damon, feeling deflated placed his hands in his back pockets. "No, I dragged you to New York because in a matter of three days, you managed to piss off everyone in Mystic Falls. A little more difficult to do in a city of millions."
Arabella shrugged her shoulders carelessly as she scanned the rows of expensive shops and bars along the streets. Her eyes beaming with delight. "You're all just been dramatic. I was hungry."
"You were reckless." Damon commented as he tried to keep up with her long strides. His mind was blown from how she managed to walk so easily in her ridiculously high heels. But he also couldn't stop thinking about how ridiculously gorgeous she looked.
"Emotionless. There's a difference."
"Look, all that matters is that when I lived here, I fed like crazy, had a blast and went undetected for years." Damon told her.
"So, we're just here to have fun?" Arabella asked, stopping in the middle of the street which forced Damon to stop aswell. "What's the catch?" She asked suspiciously.
"There is no catch." Damon lied and Arabella was dubious as she cocked her head to a side, folding her arms over her chest, enhancing her glorious cleavage. "Look, you wanted out. I got you out." Damon told her as he tried to stray his eyes away from her chest. "You wanted to feed, I brought you to a city-sized all-you-can eat buffet. That's the beauty of New York - There's so much life that a little death goes unnoticed." He looked at her, waiting to see if she would fall for his easy lie. He couldn't help but fall more in love with her if he tried. He wished she would come back to him so they could really enjoy their time in the big city, together. "Come on, baby. Let's go get some lunch."
A little while later, Damon was walking down the hectic street with his phone pressed up against his ear. The noise of car's and taxi's tooting their horns at pedestrians who were desperate to cross the road. He tried to look for Arabella in the busy crowd but she was nowhere in sight.
"What do you mean, you took her to New York, Damon?"
"And that tone is the exact reason why I didn't pick up the phone the first twenty times you called." Damon replied to his brother.
"She's completely off the rails, you idiot. How could you think this was a good idea?" Damon stayed silent as he glanced in every shop window, searching for the Petrova Hybrid. "Where is she now?"
"Out exploring the city, probably shopping. Or maybe she's eating a hot dog... Vendor." He let out a chuckle at his own joke, but the annoyed groan coming from the other side told him that Stefan didn't think it was funny.
"So, I take it your search for Katherine is off?"
"Relax, man. This little joy ride is actually a cure hunt." He raised the photo of him and Will, then lowered it as he looked at the front of a run-down bar. 'Billy's' it read above the door. "That vampire that Katherine sent after Hayley was a friend of mine. He lived in the city. Will got Vampire's fake identities and I'm pretty sure Katherine was one of his clients."
"And Elle is okay with this little field trip? Just yesterday she was living the vampire high life and now she's out there searching for the cure?"
