Arabella was still locked in the cellar at the boarding house, her breathing was laboured. Damon and Stefan were discussing their 'flip the switch' plan upstairs in the parlour. "She's the calmest dessicated vampire I've ever seen." Damon said as he poured himself a glass of his favourite liquor. "I remember when you starved me down there for three days. I would've wept at your feet for an orange peel."
Stefan took the bottle and poured his own. "Look, she's not gonna beg for blood. Begging means desperation, emotion. She's still in no-humanity zone."
Damon groaned, the frustration clear on his face. "How hungry does she have to be before we can torture some feelings back into her?"
"A lot hungrier than she is now, apparently." Stefan replied.
"So, what the hell are we supposed to do in the meantime?" Damon questioned, desperately wanting his Wife to come back to him.
"Maybe I can provide a little excitement." An unwanted visitor spoke as she walked into the room.
Both brothers snapped their heads in that direction and grimaced at their unwanted guest. "Katherine." They both muttered at the same time, with the same tone of voice.
Dull and annoyed.
"The one and only." Katherine said as she stood in the archway, a sickly sweet smile decorating her lips. She walked further into the room and proceeded to make herself at home, pouring herself a drink and sitting down on the red, leather couch. She could tell by the tension and the deathly glares, she was clearly unwanted.
But she didn't care.
"Wow! Look who went and got bold." Damon said. "Last time I checked, Klaus was plotting your eternal demise and to be honest, we aren't far behind him."
"Well, it doesn't matter anymore." Katherine replied with her signature smirk, she raised her drink in the air before draining the contents of the golden liquid. Her cocky, confident attitude was starting to infuriate the older Salvatore. "Because, Klaus... Is finally gone."
Stefan's eyes widened. "Wait, what do you mean he's gone?" He said, his face not denying that he was beyond happy.
Katherine cocked her head. "Let's just say that werewolf girl, Hayley, turned out to be just the thing we needed to get Klaus out of our lives for good." She smiled triumphantly but Damon was still itching to rip her head clean off her shoulders. He sent the doppleganger a deadly glare before he turned around and started heading out of the room.
"Wait..." Katherine called out as she jumped up from the couch. "I thought you'd be happy. One less competition for you and your precious hybrid."
Damon halted, sucking his teeth and refraining himself from speeding over and ripping out her heart. "Oh, I am happy, but I'm afraid if I stay in your presence much longer, you'll be leaving here with a gaping hole in your chest." He quickly turned back around and made his way back down to the cellar.
To be with his Wife.
Katherine pulled a face, offended. She expected the Salvatore brothers to be ecstatic at the news that Klaus had skipped town. "What's up with him?" She asked the younger Salvatore, who looked at her with the upmost distaste.
"You killed his brother-in-law. Someone who he cared about. Who we all cared about. The reason Arabella flipped her switch. "He drained his drink and slammed his glass down on the table. "We didn't just lose Jeremy, we lost her too. So, well done, Katherine."
Stefan gave her one last hateful look before he turned around and walked away, wanting to be as far away from Katherine as possible.
