After Elena came back from the dead, both Stefan and Elena had admitted that he had given her his blood, just incase the Gilbert ring didn't work. Arabella was devastated that she was the one that forced her sister to become a creature of the night, but she was also relieved that she still had her sister in her life.

In the first few days, Arabella had spent every waking hour trying to help Elena control her bloodlust, teaching her how to feed from the vein and also from animals. She needed an outlet, something to take her mind off Katherine.

Elena hated it. She tried her hardest to show otherwise, but Arabella wasn't blind. She knew her sister inside out and she could see how hard it was for her and how disgusted she was at drinking blood, regardless as to where it came from.

The hybrid became unbearable and Stefan had taken Elena to stay with Caroline before he had persuaded Arabella to let him help her let off some steam.

"This isn't gonna do anything for me." She said as she steadied herself and punched the cinder block, breaking it clean in half. "See. How was it for you?"

Stefan ignored her sarcastic comment and picked up another brick. "Again." He said as he held it up infront of him.
Arabella backed up and kicked the block with full force, snapping it straight down the middle. "Good, now focus on letting it go."

"Or you could just tell me where Elena is. I can't let her go through this without me.." Stefan didn't say anything and Arabella started getting mad. "Fine, Tell me where she is so I can rip her fucking head off."

Stefan closed his eyes and took a deep breath. He knew exactly who she was talking about because she had been the topic of conversation for the last few days. "I don't know where Katherine is, and even if I did, I wouldn't tell you."

"Seriously?!" Arabella replied. "You're the one who told me to channel my emotions into one single feeling and my feeling is.. I want to kill her!"

"Yeah, like your love for Damon. Or - or how sorry you are to your friends. Not unwavering hatred for a ruthless vampire that has five hundred years on you."

"Well, I already showed Damon-"

"All right - Give me fifty pull ups." Stefan interrupted, already knowing how much they missed each other.

Flashback

After Elena completed her transition, Arabella had taken her up to her room, reassuring her that she would get through this tricky stage and she would take her out tomorrow.

Back downstairs, Damon and Stefan were both sat in the living room, drinks in hand. Matt and Rebekah had finally left and the older Salvatore was staring into the fireplace, deep in thought.

"We've finally got her back." Stefan said quietly, trying to break the awkward silence. "I bet you - uh - I bet you're happy."

Damon stayed silent for a long time.

"I'd be happier if my wife didn't cheat on me with my brother." He said, his tone stoic as his grip tightened around his glass, smashing it to pieces in his hand. Stefan stayed silent, he didn't know what to say. Shaking the glass from his hand and watching as the gashes slowly knitted themself back together, Damon cocked his head and glared at his brother. "I've been keeping this to myself since Senior prom night. I heard you talking to Arabella, trying to coax her emotions back on. You didn't know I was listening, but I heard Every. Fucking. Word."
