After their awful discovery that Katherine was still living and still breathing, the married couple tried to have a few moments to themselves. Just the two of them, without any drama. Once Katherine was up on her feet, they sent her packing and was cuddling up on the couch, the hybrid complaining about the past few months and how supernaturally hectic their lives had become in such a small amount of time. And why they couldn't just have a moments piece without vampire ex-girlfriends and ancient witches getting in the way.
"This is nice, though." Arabella said as she snuggled further into Damon, her head resting against his chest.
"It is nice." Damon replied kissing the top of her head.
"Do you think we'll ever have a normal life? Ya know, like, Peaceful and still. I can imagine us running our own bar. You serving the customers with your charismatic charm and also drinking us dry whilst I'm in the back working on the paperwork with my feet up."
Damon scoffed. "Yeah right." He said. "You'd be front of house, welcoming the customers with your blinding smile whilst flirting with everyone just to buy our most expensive item on the menu."
Arabella laughed wholeheartedly, looking up at him with her gorgeous, green eyes. He wasn't wrong. She wasn't one to stay hidden away. "You know me so well." She replied before she reached up and kissed him on the lips, Damon melted into the kiss before they separated. "Seriously though, will we ever get there?"
"It is our life, which probably means that somebody's going to walk through that door and shatter it." Damon replied earning a low groan from the hybrid before she buried her head into his chest, clearly unhappy with Damon's reply. "I'm only been honest." He said with a small smile. "Ten, nine...."
"Shut up, Damon." She whined pulling him closer. "Just let me enjoy this moment."
"Six... Five..."
Arabella sat up abruptly and pointed a stern finger at him. "Damon, today is the day we bring my best friend back. It's a good day."
Damon continued counting down and Arabella abruptly cut him off with a kiss before placing her finger over his lips to quiet him down. Suddenly they heard footsteps approaching the house before Silas burst through the front door with a beaming smile on his face. "Greetings." he said as he walked into the living room.
Arabella looked up at Damon in accusation. "You freaking jinxed it." She said in annoyance before climbing out of his lap.
"Good morning, frenemies." He greeted, using his magic to open the curtains. "Ah, You know. I'm only a few hours into my old life as a witch, but somehow, the sun feels warmer." Silas walked to the window and let the sun hit his face. "Probably because I'm not cursed with having to outlive it anymore."
Arabella poured herself a drink and Damon could tell she was annoyed just by the way she was holding his crystal glass and the crease in her brow. "What's with the home invasion, Silas?"
"Well Damon, after two thousand years of a miserable existence, I finally get to die." He said proudly before walking away from the curtain. "We all know that Tessa was a vengeful bitch." He looked over at Arabella. "Your doppelganger, Amara died at her hands, but today, after two thousand years, Amara and I will finally reunite."
Arabella rolled her eyes and drained the glass before slamming it on the table. "Alright. Skip the mushy parts." Damon started. "Look. My girl here is just trying to have a good day, and there are promises that she's expecting you to keep."
"Oh, you don't think that I keep my promises." Silas replied.
"You said that if Damon promised to help you, which he did, you'd help bring Bonnie back."
