I Know What You Did Last Summer

It had been almost three months since Bonnie had put the veil back up and Jeremy had returned to the land of the living.

Arabella was over the moon and cried happy tears for the longest time, but she couldn't help but feel like something was wrong: One - Bonnie had disappeared on a world wide trip with her Mom after keeping her brother alive. And two: Stefan had disappeared after dropping Silas' body in the quarry.. And neither one of them would return her phone calls.

Flashback

Arabella left Katherine in the school corridor and made her way back home. She was devastated that she had missed her brother disappearing back to the otherside. Pushing open the door to the Salvatore boarding house, the hybrid rushed inside, desperate to tell her husband what had happened at the school. She came to a halt when her brother was stood infront of her, Elena, Matt and Caroline stood beside him, whilst Damon stood off to the side holding two glasses of Whiskey.

"Jeremy." She whispered with a frown as she slowly walked forward, looking around for Alaric and Lexi. Her frown deepened and she placed her hands on his cheeks, thinking she could now see ghosts. "Are, are - how? How is this-"

"I'm real." He replied, placing his hands over her own, tears slowly running down his cheeks. "Bonnie did a spell, to keep me alive. I'm back."

The moment he said those words, a sob escaped her lips and she broke down, her chest heaving as mascara-stained tears were streaming down her cheeks. She clutched at his t-shirt as he tightly wrapped his arms around her.

She had her brother back.

But, was completely unaware, she had also just lost her bestfriend.

A little while later, the girl was sat on her bed whilst Damon was in the shower, her back resting against the wooden headboard as she scrolled through her Instagram - she came across the picture of her, Stefan, Elena, Caroline, Matt and Bonnie at Graduation - obviously the blonde vampire had posted it with a cheesy, motivational quote.

She quickly pulled up Stefan's number after realising he hadn't returned from his errands. It went straight to voicemail. The brunette frowned and tried again but the same thing happened.

"Hey, Stef. It's Elle. Where are you? Because I'm pretty sure it doesn't take this long to discard of a body or in our case a bag of stones. Ha, see what I did there - bag of stones instead of bones. Anyway, call me back as soon as you get this message. We have the best news. Love you."

Arabella hung up the phone as Damon entered the bedroom, his towel hung low on his hips. "Hey, have you heard from Stefan? His phone keeps going straight to voicemail?" She queried.

Damon let out a sigh as he walked towards her and sat himself down on the bed. "I don't know how to tell you this, babe. But, Stefan - he's gone."

"What?" Arabella snapped as she frantically jumped up from the bed. "No, he, he wouldn't leave without saying goodbye."

"Elle, listen-"

"No! He wouldn't - would he?" She said as she frowned, her eyes filling with tears. "Why? Where has he gone?"

"I don't know. He just said that once Silas was dealt with, he would leave." Damon stepped towards her and took her hands before tilting her chin up so she would look at him. "He didn't 'get the girl' Arabella."
