Chapter LXXIX

《In the house of the Turners》
When dinner was over, everyone went to their room, except Juliana, who went to the library to look for Johari saying that she had left a book.

Elizabeth: Are you staying here tonight, Juliana?
Juliana: I can't. I have to go home. My mom's waiting for me. I'm going to go get a book that I left in the library and then I'm leaving.
Will: Alright. Don't you want Henry to go with you?
Juliana: No, thank you very much. I'll be fine.
Elizabeth: Then see you another day. You know you're always welcome in this house.
Juliana: Thank you so much. Good night.

Juliana made sure that everyone had gotten up from the table to go to the library and that no one saw her leave that place with the African pirate.

《Outside the house of the Turners》
Johari: So, the Heart of Fire is at your house?
Juliana: Not exactly.

《Way to look for the Heart of Fire》
Johari: Why did you wanna help?
Juliana: I don't wanna sound selfish but I'm doing it more for me. I always liked reading about nature and gods. And the fact of being with the heart of a goddess in my hands... gives me a feeling of freedom and adrenaline. Not to mention that my mom is a little strict with me and there are many things that she won't let me do that I would love to do.
Johari: That's why you're angry with her?
Juliana: Partly yes.
Johari: You don't know what I would give to spend one night, just one night, with my parents.
Juliana: I heard you worked as a slave?
Johari: When I was very young, a group of Americans came to Africa and kidnapped me and many cousins to work on some plantations as slaves. But after a few years, we managed to escape.
Juliana: My mom may be a strict woman, but she's a very good mother.
Johari: And what about your father?
Juliana: I never got to meet him. He died before I was born. He was a sailor. My mom told me that he died attacked by pirates.
Johari: That's why you reject us so much, isn't it?
Juliana: (Nods)
Johari: It's ok. I understand. But you can trust me.
Juliana: I'll be honest. I had never spoken to a pirate before and I never imagined that the first time would be like this. (Smiles)
Johari: (Smiling) And that's good or bad.
Juliana: I imagined something so much worse.
Johari: Then'a good.
Juliana: (Nods smiling)

When they arrived at the place where Juliana believed she had seen the Heart of Fire, Johari waited at the door while Juliana entered, being careful not to make any noise.

Inside the place, Juliana found a sealed chest in which she knew immediately that the Heart of Fire was located, since it had a high temperature, the sound of the heart beating could be heard, and through small holes in the chest, a light came out from within that resembled that of a lit candle.

Before leaving the place, Juliana saw a silver penknife, which she decided to keep in case she had to defend herself against the pirates she had just met a couple of hours ago.

《Way to the Black Pearl》
Johari: Wouldn't you like to join the crew?
Juliana: I couldn't sail under the command of Captain Jack Sparrow.
Johari: It doesn't have to be on the Black Pearl. (Showing the Ring of the Lotus Flower) I'm the actual captain of the Lotus Flower.
Juliana: (Surprised to hear the name and see the ring of the captain of the infernal ship of the Goddess of Hell) You want me to join your pirate crew?
Johari: Maybe.
Juliana: You want me to be one of yours?
Johari: Maybe.
Juliana: A pirate?!
Johari: Why not?
Juliana: (Surprised by the proposal) I wouldn't be able to be a pirate. Do you realize all the crimes pirates commit?! I imagine that being one you are already used to it.
Johari: Don't you realize you just stole the heart of a goddess? It is a very valuable object. Don't you think?
Juliana: I didn't steal it. I just borrowed it.
Johari: You know we won't be able to return that heart, right?
Juliana: I'll see what I can do later. Maybe I'll blame a group of pirates. (Smiling)
Johari: (Sighs and looks away from Juliana)
Juliana: (With a more relaxed voice) I'll think about it.
Johari: (Without turning to see Juliana) Think 'bout what?
Juliana: Your proposal... about joining the crew of the Lotus Flower.
