In Tortuga
While Ruby had gone sailing on the Lotus Flower, Jack and Gibbs went to Tortuga. Place where Jack spent his time chatting with Giselle and Scarlett. Jack had told them that he was going to take them for a ride on the Pearl but when they reached the port he saw that Gibbs was asleep and the ship was no longer in its place, but there was a small boat with a sail in its place.

Giselle: (Seeing the little boat) Is that it?
Scarlett: The Black Pearl? It's not very big.
Jack: Love, that is a dinghy. My vessel is a magnificent and fierce and huge-ish and... gone. Why is it gone?
Giselle: (Seeing a ship in the distance) Is that it there?
Jack: Yes, there it is. Why is it there? It's much larger up close.
Scarlett: Jack, you promised to take us for a ride.
Giselle: I was to be given the first ride.
Scarlett: What? You?

While the girls were arguing, Jack took the opportunity to approach Gibbs, who was sleeping on the floor, to ask him what had happened to the Pearl.

Jack: (Wakes him up by throwing a glass of rum in his face) Mr. Gibbs. Any particular reason why my ship is gone?
Gibbs: (Still half asleep) The ship? We're on the ship. (Fully awake) Jack! The ship's gone!
Jack: (In a mocking tone) Really? (Seeing how the discussion of the girls turned into a fight with blows) Ladies! Will you please shut it? Listen to me. (Confessing all the truth) Yes, I lied to you. (•••) No, I don't love you. (•••) Of course it makes you look fat. (•••) I've never been to Brussels. (•••) It is pronounced "egregious". (•••) By the way, no, I've never actually met Pizarro, but I love his pies. (•••) Finally, believe it or not, I have a partner to whom I intend to be faithful. (•••) And all of this pales to utter insignificance in light of the fact that my ship is once again gone. Savvy?
Giselle: (Slaps Jack)
Scarlett: (Also slaps Jack)
Jack: (Slaps Gibbs)
G

ibbs: (Looks at Jack with a hateful face but then accepts that he is his only friend) Take what you can.

Jack: Give nothing back.

Gibbs went to talk to the girls, who were leaving, and Jack began his journey in the small boat that had been left.

In the Black Pearl
Barbossa had again decided to abandon Jack having stolen his ship. But not all the crew was satisfied with having done so.

Pintel: (To Barbossa) Sir? Some of the men don't feel entirely settled about leaving Captain Jack behind.
Ragetti: Again.
Barbossa: Is that so?
Pintel: It would make us feel a whole lot better regarding our fortunes if we could see that item you told us about.
Ragetti: On the charts.
Mullroy y Murtogg: Aye.
Pintel: With our own eyes.
Ragetti: To help put an ease to our burden of guilt, so to speak.
Barbossa: Ah. Feast your eyes upon this, mates. There's more than one way to live forever. Gents, I give you the Fountain of Youth.

Barbossa opened the Navigational Charts but when he saw them, he noticed that the map was cut and half burned, and he could easily understand that the thieves had been Jack Sparrow and Ruby Evans.

Jack started his journey in the small boat that had been left when the Black Pearl was stolen, but even with the Navigational Charts, he knew that he would not be able to reach his destination in such a small ship with so few resources. He knew it wasn't safe to go after the Pearl alone, considering the rivalry he had with Barbossa, so he thought it was best to go with Ruby on the Lotus Flower.
