《At night in Elizabeth's bedroom》
Maid: It's ready miss. What a difficult day for you. Don't you think?
Elizabeth: Hm. I was waiting for Commodore Norrington to ask me but I must admit I was not prepared.
Ruby: (Arrives with a tray of food for Elizabeth) Excuse me. Elizabeth, your father asked me to bring you this.
Elizabeth: Thank you but I'm not hungry.
Ruby: I'm going to leave the tray here in case you get hungry later. (Leaves the tray on top of a desk)
Mais: (Ignoring Ruby) I heard that you were threatened by that pirate. It sounds dreadful.
Elizabeth: Oh, yes. It was dreadful
Ruby: The threat may have been dreadful, but don't forget Elizabeth. If it hadn't been for that pirate, you probably wouldn't be here.
Elizabeth: I prefer not to think about that.
Maid: The threat may have been dreadful, but the Commodore asked you for marriage. How pleased I am. You are an appropriate match. If you forgive my daring.
Elizabeth: Yes he's appropriate. He's a good man. Any women would like to marry him.
Ruby: He is appropriate and a good man. But do you want Norrington as a couple? Do you think you will be happy by his side?
Maid: I give Miss Evans a point. I think Will Turner... is also a good election.
Elizabeth: That was daring.
Maid: I beg your pardon. I was daring. (Gets out of the room)
Ruby: Does it bother you if I stay for a while? There's something I must confess you. It is important to me.
Elizabeth: There's no problem. Talk.

Ruby sat next to the window looking outside and started telling Elizabeth that she couldn't stand the hits of her mother anymore and that she was thinking about escaping from home. But Elizabeth was too distracted in her thoughts to pay attention to her stepsister. In a moment, while Ruby was talking, Elizabeth, making sure her stepsister kept her back to her, grabbed the medallion that still hung around her neck and soon, a light breeze blew out a candle.

Ruby: It's better for me if I go now. I should take advantage of this cloudy night so that no one will notice.

Elizabeth, this time did hear Ruby, but as she didn't know what she was talking about, she let her go and turned to see back to the window. Ruby, being sure that Elizabeth was still looking through the window, and wasn't watching at her, before getting out of the room, she lit the candle with her powers and got out of the room before Elizabeth could notice the fire.

Ruby went to the port and saw that Governor Swann was talking with Commodore Norrington, so she hid near to not be discovered carrying out her plan.

Governor Swann: Has my daughter given you an answer yet?
Norrington: No, she hasn't answered.
Governor Swann: Well, it has been a difficult day for her.
Norrington: (Nods with a little smile)

Ruby began to burn the mooring of a ship to the port to be able to attract attention and thus be able to escape more easily.

Governor Swann: It's me or it smells like something is burning?
Norrington: I want to believe that it's your imagination.
Governor Swann: Horrible climate, don't you think?
Norrington: (Sighs) Bad, bad.
Governor Swann: (Hears a noise) What is that?
Norrington: (Also listens) A bullet! (Pushes the Governor to protect him from the bullet) Answer the fire!
