Chapter XXXV

When the pirates of the Flying Dutchman noticed that the captain had died, they began to approach to Jones' murderer since they knew that the ship could not be left without a captain.

Ruby, noticing what the pirates were planning to do with Will, led Jack and Elizabeth away to let the pirates do their job. Jack, seeing the despair in Elizabeth realizing that the man she really loved was dead, hugged her to comfort her and try to make her feel better.

Jack took Elizabeth off the ship as he had previously done to escape Davy Jones. He let go of the rope he was holding on to take Elizabeth away and right after they jumped, The Flying Dutchman sank completely into the whirlpool.

As Jack used the rope and part of the broken sail as a parachute, Ruby followed them flying in her phoenix form.

Returning to the Black Pearl, Ruby quickly turned back into a human and the monkey Jack, frightened, jumped onto the fire goddess' shoulder.

Gibbs: Thank goodness, Jack.
Jack the monkey: (Jumps onto Ruby's shoulder)
Ruby: (Scratching the monkey's head) You're a good monkey but you must go back with your owner. Go with Barbossa.
Barbossa: (To Ruby) It's ok, Flame. Although it hurt me to say it, I have to admit that Jack loves you more than it loves me.
Ruby: What are you trying to tell me?
Barbossa: Let the monkey go with you to the Lotus Flower. Just promise me you're going to take care of it.
Ruby: You're not such a bad man after all.
Barbossa: Don't think it will be like this forever. Just take care of Jack... and the sapphire too.
Ruby: (Looks at the Bracelet of Hell with the Five Pieces of Sapphire fitted)
Gibbs: (Interrumpting) I don't think this is a good time to give gifts and thanks. The armada's still out there. The Endevor's coming up hard to starboard, and I think it's time we embrace that oldest and noblest of pirate traditions.
Jack: Never actually been one for tradition. (Giving the order) Close haul her. Luff the sails and lay her in irons.
Barbossa: Belay that, or we'll be a sitting duck.
Jack: Belay that "belay that"!

Gibbs: But the arma...
Jack: Belay.

Beckett, not caring that the Black Pearl's pirates seemed unwilling to fight, ordered to prepare the Endeavor to attack, but just before they could fire, the Flying Dutchman resurfaced. But this time captained by William Turner.

Beckett, when he saw the Dutchman, thought that Jones had survived, but when it was positioned on the other side, leaving the Endeavor surrounded, he noticed that they were not in a very good situation.

Ruby, seeing Will commanding the Flying Dutchman, without a second thought, transformed into a phoenix and grabbed a rope to fly to the Lotus Flower with Jack the monkey hanging on the rope.

Ruby: Marty! How's my ship?
Marty: In perfect condition, Captain Flame. I'm glad you're ok.

uby: Warn the others and prepare the ship to attack! This battle is not over yet!

After Marty gave the order to prepare the ship to attack, Ruby began to move the ship to position it at the back of the Endeavour, leaving Beckett's ship completely surrounded.
