Nine minutes.

After talking about their days, (f/n) and Asahi sat on the phone in silence for nine minutes. It was a rather comfortable silence; they both were doing other things while on the phone, and just having the sound of the other breathing eased them both.

The silence was broken when Asahi said the girl's name in a quiet voice, taking her attention from the paper she was typing. She happily took her hands off of her keyboard and relaxed back into her desk chair, closing her eyes to better focus on what her boyfriend had to say.

"If you could have anything right now what would you want?"

He was a little shy asking the question, although there was no reason to be. The two had known each other for a little over three years, and been dating for almost six months. They were both extremely shy around other people, but together they were relaxed and more open, happy that there was someone as awkward and nervous as they were.

It had been a while since she'd heard Asahi so reserved, so it surprised (f/n) a bit.

"It's okay for me to say you, right?" she asked with a nervous laugh.

They never said too many intimate things to each other; their romantic relationship started only days before graduation, and then they both moved on to their respective colleges. They saw each other very little since they'd started dating, and neither of them wanted to say anything too important over the phone; they wanted those moments to be special, to be face to face.

So, she hoped it was okay for her to say that, because it's how she was really feeling; though she'd never spent a night sleeping beside Asahi that's all she wanted at that moment in time. She'd never craved something she's never experienced before so bad. She blamed it on how lonely she was.

Her roommate had a significant other who lived in the dorm room just down the hallway, so they spent a lot of their time there, leaving (f/n) alone. She didn't mind that, because interacting with somebody as boisterous as her roommate sometimes proved difficult, but Asahi's company would be perfect.

They'd probably just sit together and watch tv or read in silence, but at least she'd have somebody by her side.

"Of course it's okay for you to say that," Asahi said, his voice more itself than it was before. "But I mean like material things. If you could have anything, anything at all right now, besides me, what would you have?"

(f/n) hummed, thinking about her answer carefully. She couldn't think of anything big to want; everyone she loved was healthy and well off, and she had everything she needed to live comfortable in her small dorm room.

She could think of a few small things she wouldn't mind having though, and once she had decided on her answer she leaned forward in her chair and rested her arms on the table in front of her.

"Well, I'd like a red bull so it's easier for me to stay up and finish all this homework," she started, emitting a laugh from Asahi. He couldn't see the homework around her, but he imagined loads of it in front of her. "Maybe new socks? I love new socks. Also some of my grandma's homemade bread; she always made the best bread."

(f/n) stopped talking because she knew if she didn't she'd get really into a conversation about home made bread and socks and red bull; she was passionate about everything.

"But I just really want you," she added quietly, eyes scanning over the bottom right corner of her computer. It was almost midnight, and even though the two of them should be getting to bed she didn't say anything about the time. She wanted all the time she could get talking with Asahi, even if it meant being tired the next day.

"I want you too, (f/n)," he said in a soft tone, and the girl listened as he sighed and moved around, probably already in bed. "Only a few weeks left until winter break though, and then we'll both be back at home and we can spend a lot of time together."

The girl smiled slightly at that and nodded. It took her a few seconds to realize that Asahi didn't know she nodded, so then she spoke. "Can we spend the whole two weeks together?" she asked.

"Definitely, I wanna get as much time in with you as I can. Build up the hugs and memories so I have some to last when we have to leave each other again."

They were both quiet after that, thinking about how wonderful it will be when they get to see each other again. A silence overtook them like it had at the beginning of the conversation, both of them finding comfort in it.

Asahi yawned only a minute later, which made (f/n) smile. "Go to bed, Asahi. You have to wake up early for practice, don't you?"

"Yeah, but I want to talk with you until I sleep," he said, trying to hold in the next yawn. "Just talk to me until I pass out?"

(f/n) agreed and leaned forward to get back to her Japanese Lit. paper, reading parts of it out to Asahi. He helped her by telling her when she should use a better word, or when one of her sentences ran on a bit long. It was 1:03 in the morning when Asahi began snoring, almost exactly five hours before he would have to wake up for morning practice.

(f/n) leaned back in her chair and listened to him snore, a smile making it's way to her face. "I really love you, Asahi," she mumbled, a blush making a way to her cheeks. She'd said it into the phone many times when she knows he is sleeping, and although he can't return the words it feels good for her to say it aloud.

She hung up after listening to him snore a bit longer and then she got back to the paper, hoping she'd be able to finish it soon.

extra:

"(f/n), you've got a package."

(f/n) thanked her Adviser and accepted the package with a smile, wondering where the small package had come from. She laughed a bit upon opening it, finding a note on the top from the sender. She picked up the note to read it, the fond smile not leaving her face.

I hope you enjoy all of the things inside of this box. (I'm sorry there isn't home made bread; I can't make home made bread.)

Also, I'm sorry that I couldn't send you my body; they don't make boxes that big.

After the few words on the paper there was a stick figure drawing of she and her boyfriend. After setting down the letter she looked at the contents of the box, butterflies in her stomach. Asahi had sent her two red bull, a new pair of socks, and some melon bread.

She hung the letter up on her wall beside her bed and then called Asahi to thank him for the package.

"You're one sneaky man, Asahi."
