When (f/n) told Akaashi she wanted to build a pillow fort, he just went with it. Having been friends with Bokuto for many years now, he was used to dealing with situations that were a little surprising or childish - Bokuto had him prepared for most situations from his high school years. So, when his girlfriend said pillow a pillow fort sounded like fun, he went with it.
And it ended up being more fun than he expected it to be; dragging every piece of their bedding to their living room, tacking it on the walls, hooking it on the back of chairs and the couch, taking every pillow and blanket they owned in order to shove it in this fort.
Akaashi deemed it the greatest fort ever, a smile on his face, and (f/n) grabbed a wooden spoon from the kitchen just to deem them both the king and queen of forts everywhere. It took them only a few minutes to be ready to get in the fort, (f/n) in her sleepwear and Akaashi clad in his boxers instead of pants and his glasses instead of his contacts.
Crawling into it with their laptops was a much more fulfilling feeling than they'd imagined, both settling into the nest of blankets with content looks on their faces and their laptops on their legs.
They both then got to work on what they needed to do; Akaashi had a huge presentation early the next morning and was working on tweaking that while (f/n) got to watch anime, blessed with later classes the next day and no more homework to do. For the sake of Akaashi's concentration (f/n) was watching anime with her headphones, head resting lightly on Akaashi's shoulder, feeling his arm tense and ease as he typed away.
They'd always been good at finding silence and maintaining it when it was just the two of them together, neither one feeling like they needed to talk. Akaashi only spoke when he needed reassurance that his bullet points weren't too long and that he used the most appropriate word possible, but besides that they were silent at first.
When Akaashi started getting nervous though, (f/n) started speaking. Akaashi was more scared of giving oral presentations than he was of any other school projects; he'd rather write a long essay, rather research for hours and put it all into a boring paper than spend that much time making a presentation look good.
(f/n) had no problem helping him, even though it all was perfect before she was asked to help, Akaashi's perfectionism shining through. She spent a few minutes assuring him it was fine, calming his nerves with kisses to his face and encouraging words in his ear. Akaashi thanked her with a small smile, relaxing as much as he possibly could before getting to work again.
(f/n) went back to watching anime but kept a close eye on Akaashi, rubbing his arm comfortingly when he groaned in an annoyed fashion or clenched his fists in frustration. He finished his presentation within the hour, saving it six times before shutting his laptop and moving it off of his lap and to the side, his glasses following after.
Instead of leaving the fort to sleep in their very comfy bed like (f/n) figured he would, Akaashi turned onto his side, facing his girlfriend and curled up into a ball.
"'Kaashi," she said quietly hand reaching out to touch his arm. "We can go to the bed now."
Akaashi shook his head, (f/n) feeling the movement against her leg. "Let's sleep here."
"You sure? The bed would be more comfortable, and it's important for you to sleep well for your presentation tomorrow."
"Too lazy and too tired to go to the bed." (f/n) accepted that, her hand moving to rub circles on his arm.
It didn't take long into knowing Akaashi for (f/n) to realize that the boy found even just a hand on his back or arm the best form of relaxation; he loved when they were out in a restaurant and (f/n) would slot their fingers together, her thumb running over the back of his hand softly, he loved it when they were going to sleep and (f/n) would rub his back and arm - it calmed him, even if he wasn't nervous.
"What time do you want the alarm set for?" (f/n) asked, picking up her phone to set the alarm.
"6:15 please," he said quietly. (f/n) set the alarm and then another for 6:30 just in case they slept in and then she shut her own laptop and curled up in front of Akaashi, closing her eyes to sleep as well.

The next day was kind of a blur to Akaashi; he woke up fifteen minutes before the alarm was to go off in a panic, afraid that he'd slept in. Upon looking at (f/n)'s phone he calmed and then started getting read in a daze. His nerves were making his hands shake uncontrollably, resulting in him dropping both his shampoo and body wash in the shower, his toothbrush in the sink, and almost his coffee cup.
(f/n) did her best to calm him down before he went, hands rubbing soothing circles over his back and arms, promising him that she'd give him the best back rub ever when she got home later.
Akaashi left their house and somehow managed to avoid all hell breaking loose up until minutes before his presentation. He started panicking, trying to figure out what the hell to do to calm down, his hands roaming up and down his arms nervously. It calmed him a little, but not as much as (f/n)'s could.
The presentation itself went well; throughout all of the taxing volleyball games and oral presentations he had to deal with in high school he was rather prepared, knowing how to hold his anxiety well in front of mounds of people even if he felt like he was dying.
His next few classes went by in a haze and he was walking into his and (f/n)'s apartment a few minutes after noon. He was hungry but he was too tired to prepare himself food and eat it. He walked into the living room to throw all of his things on the couch, mentally tallying the amount of time he'd have to sleep before (f/n) was going to get home.
It was then he saw the pillow fort, still standing tall from earlier even though (f/n) said she'd take it down. Akaashi didn't think twice before crawling into the fort, not even bothering to change or take off his glasses before wrapping himself up in the blankets and sleeping.
(f/n) got home only an hour and a half later, announcing it when she walked in. She didn't receive a response, which worried her a bit - Akaashi should have been home by now. She silently walked into the home, noting Akaashi's shoes where they usually were, his jacket and bag on the couch. She realized where he was when she heard soft murmurs coming from the fort, a soft smile crossing her face.
When she looked inside she 'aww'd' quietly, admiring Akaashi sleeping with his clothes still on and his glasses smashed against his face. Instead waking him up and feeding him - things she really should have done - (f/n) took the glasses off of his face and set them to the side and then crawled into the fort beside him, making her way into his arms quickly.
Akaashi didn't wake fully, just wrapped his arms around the girl and hummed before falling back into unconsciousness.
