Oikawa Tooru || Inappropriate Timing

Oikawa had always been good at reading the mood; he knew when it was appropriate to say something and when it was appropriate to shut up. He knew, but he never cared. He found himself saying the worst things at the most inconvenient times, and he didn't have any shame.

He told (f/n) about his feelings for her at a get together their families were having together. Takeru and (f/n)'s little sister were standing beside them and Oikawa picked (f/n) up, set her in his lap, and told her he liked her.

It was embarrassing, and Takeru and (f/n)'s little sister had a lot of fun making fun of them and telling every member of their families, embarrassing (f/n) to death. Oikawa had no problem, and held (f/n)'s hand with a large smile on his face.

Their first kiss was in the middle of the school hallway. (f/n) was standing with Oikawa and some volleyball members and a few of (f/n)'s friends when Oikawa just pushed her against the lockers and kissed her in front of everyone, claiming he couldn't wait. That resulted in a smack in the back of the head - one from (f/n) and another from Iwaizumi - and an hour of detention for PDA in the hallways.

That's how all of their firsts happened; first date was spontaneous, Oikawa showing up at her house at two in the morning and bringing her to the park because he wanted to swing. First time they slept in the same bed together was him sneaking into her home and cramming herself into her bed. The first time he made out with her was in front of Takeru and (f/n)'s younger sister, Oikawa just always wanted to surprise (f/n), and it was stressful for her.

So, when they were arguing for the first time - Oikawa didn't start this, surprisingly, (f/n) had because Oikawa had told Matsukawa and Hanamaki some very intimate, very fake details about their relationship - (f/n) should have known that something was coming. He wasn't even angry like she was, he was just smiling at her, replying calmly while she yelled at him for telling Mattsun and Makki what he had.

"You're so stupid, Oikawa! We haven't done anything sexual, you can't go telling your volleyball members things that aren't true - things that didn't happen! You need to realize that it isn't right; even if those things were true they're nobody else's busine-"

"I love you, (f/n)."

The girl stopped talking at her boyfriend's words; her mouth opened and closed as she thought about what to say. Nothing came to mind, so she shut her mouth and spent almost a full minute thinking before she spoke.

"I'm angry at you, you can't try to turn this around and tell me that - stop with your inappropriately timed 'first times!' Let me be mad about this, I deserve to be mad about this."

"You do," Oikawa said, moving towards her. "But I mean it, I love you (f/n). I'm sorry I told Mattsun and Makki that, it was just a joke and I'm very sorry."

(f/n) had never heard him sound so sincere through an apology, so she accepted the apology with a sigh. "Just, shut up about our relationship," (f/n) mumbled, pinching the bridge of her nose.

Oikawa laughed and pulled her hand from her nose before linking their fingers together. "I won't talk about anything private anymore, (f/n)-Chan, I promise."

(f/n) rolled her eyes, "don't make promises you idiot," she mumbled to him, but he kept on his smile and put his face right in front of hers.

They stared at each other for a while before a pout crossed Oikawa's lips. "Are you not gonna tell me you love me too?"

He was surprised when she pulled him into a short kiss. "You stress me out a lot," she whispered, kissing him again. "But I love you too."

"Yay, (f/n)-Chan loves me," Oikawa said, kissing her face everywhere lightly.

"Shut up," she mumbled before kissing him again.
