After two years of being in college, Nishinoya was sure he had done it all. 'It all' referring to all of the typical college things. He'd been to crazy parties, got so drunk he couldn't remember the parties, pulled all nighters in order to study for important tests, and worked his ass of to be the libero for the college volleyball team; he's extremely proud to say that he has been the starting libero since his freshman year. The only thing he hadn't done was have a college love. He's had flings and one night stands like most people in the college had, but he hadn't met a girl that peeked his interest enough for him to fall head over heels in love with her.
That was, until the beginning of his third year of college. He was put into a math class he knew he would have to slave to pass, but all that left his mind when he walked into the class and saw a girl more beautiful than Kiyoko.
He never thought he would see someone so beautiful, but there she was, talking with the teacher with a large, breath taking smile on her face. He and Tanaka stared at her until they were reminded by one of their other friends to take their seats.
"Good morning class, as you already know, I am your proffesor, Akiyama. This young lady here," the teacher gestured her hands towards the girl, who waved to the class, "is (l/n) (f/n). She is extremely good at math and has agreed to be in this class some days to help tutor you guys. If you have any questions and I am busy, you can ask her."
From then on, Nishinoya passed math easily.
He aquainted (f/n) immediately and had her help him with every problem he had; almost everyday during the class and after his practice the two were together studying. She was great at helping him quickly understand concepts he would have usually taken weeks to understand, and she had enough patience to deal with his inability to sit still and study for more than an hour without getting restless.
After a few months of her helping him, he even asked her out on a date, but was turned down immediately. (f/n) had told him that she wasn't ready for a relationship at the moment, and although he had no idea what made her unready for a relationship he didn't pry, and he let the matter be after asking a second time and getting the same reaction. He settled for just being friends because hey, that was better than nothing.
"Nishinoya-Kun." The spiky haired boy turned to his teacher, who looked rather tired for it being a Friday. "You're good friends with (f/n), right?" The boy nodded, a smile growing on his face. "She is out sick today, so could you please bring some papers to her house for me?"
Noya agreed to do it immediately, and grabbed the small folder of papers before walking out of room and to practice.
After practice he got changed in his dorm room, told Tanaka he would return, and then started the walk to (f/n)'s house. It wasn't far away, but it was off campus; she lived in a small apartment a few blocks down from the campus that her parents helped her pay for. It wasn't an impressive apartment, but it was enough for her to live in alone.
When Nishinoya arrived at her apartment door he knocked and waited patiently, a small smile on his face. He had been to the apartment only a handful of times, but never long enough to get a good look at it. He felt like this was a great chance to grow closer to the girl he'd grown extremely fond of, so the smile on his face wasn't faltering at all.
When the door opened he smiled even wider, if that was possible, and he held out the papers for her.
"Noya?" she questioned. The boy could definitely tell she was ill; bags under her eyes, her face more pale than usual, sweat on her forehead despite the cool weather outside, pajamas still on her body, a blanket wrapped around her shoulders.
