After Karasuno lost to Aobajousai, (f/n) was unsure what to say to her boyfriend, Daichi. She knew he would be sad, but she hadn't prepared a speech for if they lost; she was sure they were going to win. She'd never been one to have a way with words, so instead of telling Daichi all kinds of uplifting things, she decided to do what she does best; surprise her boyfriend.

While the team was going out to eat, she headed to Daichi's house, which was empty until later that night. His parents were at work and would return about the time Daichi did, so she had time to listen to music loudly in the house and prepare everything she needed to surprise Daichi; bed, snacks, drinks, movies, everything they'd need to make the night a cozy one.

Daichi had known she would stay the night, so he texted her as a warning when he was on his way home, and she started running him a bath so it'd be ready by the time he got home. While the bath was filling she straightened everything that she figured needed a bit of rearranging, spending ten minutes preparing the bed.

She filled his large bed with all kinds of blankets, pillows, and the bear she'd bought him a few months before for their anniversary. After turning off the bath she skipped up the stairs with the plate of cookies Mrs. Sawamura had made, and the front door open right as she was setting them down.

She closed the door to his room almost all the way - so he wouldn't peak in and see it before he was supposed to - and then made her way down the stairs. She stopped when she saw his mother hugging him, and waited her turn to greet the boy.

Once he broke away from his mother and started walking towards her, (f/n) could feel her heart break; his eyes were glossy and red, and his cheeks were covered in streaks from his tears.

"Hey," (f/n) whispered, pulling him close once he had set his bag down. "I ran you a bath, go hop in, okay? Then we're gonna have a very relaxing night."

She pulled his head down to kiss his forehead lightly, and he smiled weakly at her before going straight into the bathroom. After preparing beverages for she and Daichi she bid his parents goodnight and skipped up the stairs to his room.

After making sure everything was arranged correctly she changed into one of Daichi's shirts and a pair of her pajama shorts before relaxing onto his bed. The night would commence whenever the boy got out of the bath, so she waited for just that and played Neko Atsume on her phone, buying all new toys for the cats.

He entered the room only a few minutes later in a pair of sweats, a few tear drops of water still running down his chest. (f/n) set her phone down immediately after seeing him enter the room, ready to do anything and everything it took to make her boyfriend not so sad anymore.

Daichi had paused in the doorway at the sight of his room, confused at the sight of it. (f/n) had mostly only made over his bed, but she hung up a string of fairy lights to make it so they could have the normal light off and not be encased in total darkness. Daichi's bedside table was covered in different chips, cookies, and fruits, all of which Mrs. Sawamura and (f/n) knew were his favorites.

"What is all of this?" he asked quietly.

"I made the bed super comfy and the atmosphere of the room super cozy and bought some chips and your mom and I made cookies, and I've got a few of your favorite mo-"

Daichi cut her off with a hug, burying his face into her shoulder. He smiled slightly into her neck and then backed away to kiss her forehead lightly.

"Let's get cozy," he said in a soft tone to her, the small smile still etched on his face.

She immediately pulled him towards the bed and flopped onto it, her arms pulling Daichi on top of her as she went. He moved to get relaxed while she reached for the remote to play the first movie, moving into her boyfriend's arms once it was started.

The first movie flew by in an instant, probably because they didn't watch it much. They were busy feeding each other cookies and chips, and they'd almost managed to spill a whole glass of milk on the bed due to Daichi tickling (f/n).

Daichi had managed to push the thoughts of losing the game to the back of his mind while they finished the first movie and started the second, only thinking about it once they'd started cleaning things up to sleep.

Silence overtook them as they got positioned under the covers. (f/n) decided to speak once the silence had started to make her feel uncomfortable."You did so well even though you guys lost," she said quietly, looking up to see Daichi's face.

He didn't want her to see him cry, and since he felt like he was going to he turned around so his back was facing her.

"Daichi," she said with a small chuckle, moving her body closer to his. She forced her right arm underneath his body and the left one over it so she was spooning him. He'd always loved being the small spoon because it was the cuddling and love without the hair in his mouth.

"You guys still have a chance, right?" He was silent after the question, his body tensing up a bit. "The third years don't have to quit yet; it will be a little hard for you to handle the end of the year stuff plus volleyball, but I know for sure that you guys will be able to handle it and get better and beat every one of your opponents, even Aobajousai and Shiratorizwa."

After giving her very quiet speech she kissed the back of his neck a few times softly.

Daichi turned around in her arms and pressed his forehead against hers to look into her eyes.

"Do you really think we can win?" he asked in an innocent voice, and (f/n) almost laughed at how hopeful and young he looked; like a child.

"Of course I do, Daichi. The team is so strong, you're all doing so well and you're only going to get better."

Daichi pulled her tighter against his body, his mood immediately better at her words.

"I love you so much," he whispered to her.

"I love you too, Daichi."
