I went to some concert thing two weekends ago and somebody told me they liked how confident I was in my poor dance moves and this was born.

Also this will probably be my new update schedule - 1-3 oneshots during the weekend until I can find my mojo again or something. Idk I'm trying but I don't want to push myself and then post absolute rubbish stories, so that's how it's going to be.

I hope you all have good weeks ^.^

He'd never really been one for festivals - when asked if he wanted to go, Kuroo usually opted for staying inside. It wasn't that he hated festivals, but they were a lot of trouble for him to go to; his mom usually worked, meaning he was almost always stuck babysitting his little sister, and the times she got off and could watch the young girl, Kuroo had nobody to go with. His one friend was known for not wanting to go places - Kenma's anxiety was only fueled when he was surrounded by a lot of people, and it was no fun to go alone to these things. So, Kuroo never really went.

The first year he got to make it to the spring festival - and actually enjoy it - was his third year of high school when Bokuto invited him because Akaashi was going to be busying studying or practicing his piano skills or something important like that. Kuroo wasn't sure of the details, he just knew he was excited because he could finally go and enjoy the festival, no little sister or hounding mother with him.

(And he was going with his best bro, which was definitely a plus.)

He got ready excitedly - in casual clothing, because while he knew he'd look good as fuck in a yukata, he was tired from a day of practice and wasn't about to walk around in zori and he really, really didn't want to chafe because of the uncomfortable spandex shorts he had to wear with his yukata.

He wore a comfortable sweater (because despite the changing of the seasons the forecast called for low temperatures) and a rather loose fitting pair of skinny jeans, and awed when he saw that Bokuto (crazy, hot headed Bokuto) wore a muscle tee with his own pair of jeans.

Kuroo had been feeling rather stressed, what with final exams and nationals for volleyball coming up, but when he saw the dopey smile on Bokuto's face he felt some of the tensions slip from his shoulders and let himself forget about his worries. He forgot about all of the stupid math formulas, the words he needed to study for his English class, what number gold was on the periodic table or why it was labeled AU (because that makes no sense, gold doesn't have an A or an U in it.) He let Bokuto's enthusiasm rub off on him, and decided to be seventeen for the night - decided to be calm.

He ordered deep fried foods, things he wouldn't usually let himself eat and he paid to participate in rigged festival games and he let Bokuto give him a piggy back ride because Bokuto just had to see how far he could carry Kuroo. It was quite the night, and once it started getting darker, once the crowd started thinning out and the lanterns started being turned on, a band started playing music.

Most of the songs were rather relaxing - calm instrumentals, young couples gathered in front of the small stage, dancing and laughing and kissing. He felt a little tug in his chest, because he wanted to be slow dancing and kissing some beautiful girl or boy right now, but he had his bro, and they were laughing together, and for now that was enough.

He spotted her soon after the band started playing. They had a bif of a change of pace, something a little more pop coming on, a little more dance-y, and it attracted more people immediately. People were dancing all around, swinging and swaying and - dare he say it - grinding, and he perked up a little, because he and Bokuto could dance to this music, even if it was just two bros snapping and fist pumping and making fools of themselves for the hell of it.
