Flashette(Book Two)

     After our brief moment, Cisco, Harry, and Jay returned. We talked to them, and told them about everything that happened. I called Felicity after, and told her as well. Jay, Cisco, and Harry went to work on the speed cannon and Barry and I went to CCPD.
     "Hey Joe, what's up?"
     "A lot. Especially with the new threat."
     "What?"
     "Yeah, Mark and The Trickster are working together. What better time to team up than the holidays?"
     "We weren't aware of that. We'll get right on that when we arrive back at S.T.A.R. Labs. How's everything here? I know we haven't been here for a while."
      "It's been the usual. Captain also wants to talk to you."
     "Thanks Joe," I said before we walked into Captains office.
     "Hey Guys, I heard the news with you two. Congratulations. And I just want you to understand that you can take off as many days as you need. I know how pregnancy's can be tough for both the parents. And, you can also work from home if that is easier, so you don't have to be coming here all the time."
     "Thanks Captain!" I said shaking his hand. Barry shook his hand and we proceeded to go back to S.T.A.R. Labs and share the news with the rest of the team.
      "Did you know about Mark and Jessie? They're back. I don't understand why we didn't get an alert."
     "Unless they hacked our system and made it so the alarm was disabled."
     "How would they be able to do that? They aren't smart enough and they must have had someone on the inside that's seen the software. I know just the person that would do that."
      "Leonard," I said looking at Barry.         
      "Try to locate the gun," I said.
     "Thats funny, it's at your house," Cisco said. And with those words, I went against myself and sped to my house. Barry followed and met me at home.
     "What do you want Leonard?" I asked going into my house and seeing Leonard sitting on the couch. He was using my favorite mug, filled with cocoa. 
     "I can't have a little talk with my two favorite people?" Leonard asked. "I came here to tell you the plan with the tag team that you're fighting. I told you that they owed me, but I don't take orders from anyone. They wanted to make me a part of their team and I declined because I run my own show. And since I am your favorite villain, I wanted it to stay that way. They are placing bombs in every little present that they are giving out. For the past few days they have been dressing up as Santa and giving kids out bombs. They are going to blow every one up."
     "How do we know we can trust you?" I asked.
     "I do.." Barry said. "How can we stop them?" He asked.
     "You find the control. If you disable it, they all go out. But times running out. You have until tomorrow. Though Christmas isn't in a few days, they are planning it early."
     "Cisco, we have to find that bomb," I said into my earpiece.
      "On it," he said.
     "Congrats on the baby!" Leonard said to us. Barry pinned him against the wall and spoke to him:
      "I accept the compliment. But if you EVER come near us or our baby, you won't be able to walk ever again," Barry said before letting him go.
     "I knew you had a heart," I said turning to Leonard.
     "Yes, it's there, but it is ice cold," he said before he left. Cisco located the bomb and we knew where to find it.
     "It's located at the other toy factory. That must be where they are hiding out," Barry said to me after Cisco told him through the earpiece. I suited up an sped over there with Barry behind me.
    "Well, Well, Well, look who it is. I see Leonard paid you a visit. And why did you trust him? Did you really think he'd turn us in that easy? Rookie mistake....We have 3 visitors. Haven't you ever heard three's a crowd?"
    "Don't you dare touch her," Barry said.
      "I wouldn't do that, she's too pretty. But you on the other hand....."
     "Why are you doing this?"
     "Because I want revenge on the people that put me in Jail the last time. And that is you two. Hurting the city hurts you. Besides, with people like you around we will never be able to do our jobs. Now, you have a choice.....die...or.....die....."
    "Neither,"I said trying to find a way out. People came out of the shadows and tied us up. Barry and I were tied to poles facing each other and all I could see in Barry's eyes was worry.
     "You see, these bombs are too complex for even the braniest of braniacs to figure out. That's why we give them out to kids because they are too dumb to figure out that it's a bomb. And you are going to witness them all die," Jessie said before wheeling a t.v. in between us. We watched the tv as a montage of children were sitting by their tree with the present, waiting to open it. I began tearing up at the fact that all these children were going to die.
     "And the sad part is, you are going to be the ones to kill the children," Jessie said walking up to Barry with the remote.
     "NO!" I yelled. "Kill me instead."
     "What are you doing?" Barry asked.
     "I'd rather me die than these poor children. Think of all the families and parents."
     "Very well then," Jessie said walking up to me. "I was going to spare you until the end, but this works too," he said pointing a gun at me. Tears filled my eyes and I was too scared to speak. I could hear Barry yelling and pleading. A gunshot was the last thing I could hear, and that shot would change everything.
     I remember being tied up by Mark and the Trickster. After the gunshot, I thought I was dead, but I guess not. I woke up at S.T.A.R. Labs safe.
     "What happened?" I asked.
     "Patty..........she came in and shot Jessie. He's okay, but is in the hospital at Iron Heights. Mark is safely contained in the pipeline and we're okay," Barry said picking me up. He sped me home, and we had a visitor.
     "Flashes," Leonard said sitting on the couch. Before he got another word out, Barry brought Leonard to S.T.A.R. Labs and put him in the pipeline.
     "No more unwanted guests," Barry said before joining me back on the couch. We had another memorable moment later in the night.
    "Ow," I said as I awoke. Barry heard in was in pain and woke up immediately.
     "Whats wrong?" Barry asked me.
     "Just the baby moving around.....Feel," I said putting Barry's hand on my stomach. He felt the baby kick, and he smiled.
