Flashette(Book Two)

     "How?" I asked.
    "Well, I have this earth's Harrison Wells data. He didn't contain the dark matter, but I did. All we have to do is recreate what happened with you two the night of the explosion."
     "It sounds dangerous. What happens to us? What if it doesn't work out?"
     "It will, trust me."
     "I don't know. It seems risky. I'm gonna go to CCPD to check things out. I think we need some time to think about it," I said before I walked out with Barry following. When we got there, Joe was in his usual place and everything was fine. We talked for a while with him about everything and the recent cases that have been going on. Our discussion was interrupted by a flash of blue and a large gust of wind. In a split second, every cop had their guns in the air and Barry stood next to me with clenched fists as we all started at Zoom.
     "Detective," he said mentioning to Joe. "Make sure the word spreads that Zoom is here and that if you don't obey me you will pay."
     "NO! Don't hurt them!" Caitlin yelled from the balcony. "Please," she pleaded. I only got to look at her for a split second. She looked like she had been well taken care of, and knowing Jay, I knew he wouldn't hurt her.
      "You need to clear this place out, or you will all go down with the rest of the city," he said before speeding Caitlin away. I ran upstairs with Barry to help him clean up everything we needed that the police could use. Within hours, we were cleaned out, and Barry and I helped set up Jitters so the police could hideout there. Barry and I decided to pay his dad a visit in his new house.
     "It's Nice," Barry commented on his dad's log cabin type home.
     "I know right. It's perfect for everything I need. How are you guys doing? I'm sorry about the whole baby thing," Henry said leading us inside and sitting us down at a small wooden dining table.
     "You don't have to be sorry about that. We'll just have to try again, and maybe we'll be more lucky next time. But other then that and the usual, good. That's not what we came here for. See, we don't have our powers. We gave them up for Wally's life.......Joe's son. We couldn't let him die. He's part of our family."
     "So you're...."
     "Just human beings now. No special powers or speeding around the city for us. Unless we recreate the particle accelerator explosion."
     "You can't do that, you could die. Your powers aren't what makes you, you. It's the Barry and Chloe without the powers that matters. You don't need your powers to make you feel whole."
     "But we do. Running around the city and saving people is what we want to do and love. We wouldn't have it any other way. When our powers were taken away, a part of us left with it. And we don't know what the right thing to do is."
     "Go by what you think. If you don't want to, then don't. Personally, I think you shouldn't because I don't want to lose you like I lost Nora. I didn't get to see my little boy grow up, and I want to see you grow as adults."
     "Thank you Henry," I said before grabbing Barry's hand and walking out of Henry's house after saying goodbye.    
      We went back to S.T.A.R Labs and talked to the rest of the team. Cisco was out with his brother Dante at the local bar. We talked with them for a while to come up with a plan, but we didn't get much done. Cisco came speeding into the cortex with his brother behind him.
     "Guys, a meta....Rupture.....He thinks I killed Reverb. He's after me and wants me dead. Zoom must have told him I did it. To make it creepier, it turns out it's my brother's doppelgänger. He's like the grim reaper, but with a mask and a red suit."
     "Cisco, what are we doing here...oh. What are you not tell-" Dante said seeing the Flash suits. Barry and I were standing in view of them, and Dante put the pieces together. It took him a second.
     "You're them. It's really you....I can't believe-"
     "We're gonna have to find a way to erase his memory later. For now, let's get to work." Cisco dragged Dante into the workshop and the rest of us were trying to figure out the situations at hand. We had the CCPD Zoom thing and Rupture. We had received a text on the monitor while we were working and Cisco came pacing into the room when he heard it.
     "Zoom@Jitters2Nite," Cisco read.
     "It's gotta be Caitlin. Zoom's gonna attack them. We gotta act fast."
     "And without your powers Mr Allen, we can't stop Zoom," Harry said walking into the cortex.
     "But we can use the hologram. It worked for all the other metas and the robbery earlier. It may work on Rupture."
      "We can give it a try," Cisco said loading all the equipment up. We got to the location and Barry and I got into position on the treadmill. Barry and I were ready to run, and Cisco was on controls.
     "Let's hope all the video games payed off.......And...now.." Cisco said watching Rupture break the glass door and stepping in. When we were given the signal, we ran on the treadmill while the holograms "ran" into Jitters. It worked on Rupture and it distracted him from the police.
     "Flashes," he said. We could see through the security cams. He went after our holograms and it worked. We "dodged" every punch and avoided every move. But there was a problem when he realized it was fake.
     "You're not real. That's why you're not fighting back. See everyone, these are just holograms. They were never here. You're heroes are gone and soon you will be too," Rupture said.
     "He's gonna kill all of them," Barry said taking off his equipment, opening the van door, and running to Jitters from the back. I followed him and we stood before Rupture among the group of police.
     "Please, STOP!" Barry yelled. "Cisco didn't kill your brother, and you have the wrong guy. It was Zo-" Barry tried to say. He was interrupted by a strong gust of wind, blue lightning, and a bang. Zoom had Rupture pinned up to the counter and spoke to him.
     "I told you that I was handling this. You were supposed to get the killer of your brother and that was all. But since you did my job for me, I'm gonna do mine for you," he said digging his claw into Rupture's abdomen. Rupture died in front of us and fell to the floor. Zoom looked at Barry and I, and in a matter of seconds, every CCPD officer except for Joe and Captain was dead.
     "You're alive because of Caitlin. But next time you won't be so lucky," he said speeding off. Barry and I looked around at all the lives taken and we knew what we had to do.
     We had a talk with the rest of the team about everything that happened at Jitters tonight back at S.T.A.R. Labs. Cisco and Dante had a brotherly moment, and they've became closer already. When we were done discussing all together, we went out separate ways except for Barry and I. We stayed in the cortex and had a talk of our own about the choice that we were going to make.
     "Are you sure you want to do this?" I asked him.
      "Yeah, are you?"
      "Positive," I said grabbing Barry's hand, intertwining our fingers, and leaning my head on his shoulder. We stood admiring our suits together for a moment and snapped back into reality shortly after. When the talk was over, we walked down to the accelerator and heard commotion. We stood in the doorway and listened to everything that was going on. Cisco pointed in our direction and Henry and Joe's eyes locked with ours.
     "I don't believe this. Both of you, arguing about a choice that isn't even yours to make. We're adults now, and we can make this decision for ourselves. We found out that one of the officers that was killed had a son. Another child that is going to have to live without a parent because of Zoom. I don't want any more kids to grow up how we did. We're doing this not for ourselves, but for the city and the people in it. It's our job to help people as the Flashes and this City is ours and not Zooms. We have to do whatever we can before Zoom takes over another. We have to take the risk no matter what the cost, even if it is our lives. Now, how do we use this?"
     "You get strapped in and we recreate what happened the night the accelerator exploded. Ramon will go on the roof and create the lightning bolt that shocked you two. The blast will be contained, and everything will be fine."
       "Let's do it," we said walking up to the accelerator.
       "Whatever happens," Barry said looking at me. I knew he had more to say, but I interrupted him by giving him a long, passionate kiss. His hands found their way to my face and he cupped it, deepening the kiss. We pulled away and took one last glance at each other before stepping into the machine. I looked at Joe and Henry and saw worry in both of their eyes. They stepped back and the door closed, sealing us in. There were clamps that were attached to our wrists and ankles that kept us in place. Harry pulled the lever and first, needles dug into our arms that injected us with the chemicals we were affected with that night. Barry and I were yelling in pain, and I noticed Joe and Henry get more worried as it went on. Harry gave Cisco the signal after a few seconds and the bolt came down, hitting Barry and I. We were now yelling in pain louder then before because it was unbearable. The power must have been too strong because an explosion occurred. The last thing I could hear was the sound of our screams.

       Sorry for the late update. How was chapter 27? I tried my best to write on schedule, but it was a lot of content to think about and some things had to be changed. But the episode was AMAZING! I think that this was the episode where Jessie and Wally get their speed. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed and thank you for all the Adds, Votes, Reads, and Comments.
