After the meeting when King Shark was defeated, Cisco thought we all deserved a night out.
"C'mon, we're 26 years old. We have to go out and do fun things every once and a while. The last club I went to was Verdant in Starling. C'mon...." Cisco said repeatedly nudging my arm.
"Fine!" I snapped.
"Party time!" Cisco exclaimed before everyone sighed. We got to the club and Cisco was having the time of his life. Iris even met us and joined in on the "fun." Everyone was doing shots, while I was doing shots of water because I couldn't have anything else.
"Chloe, if it's not your thing we can go home."
"I'm fine," I said reassuring Barry. We danced and talked for a little while longer before we were attacked. And not by a meta, but another speedster. The speedster managed to rob the register and everyone on the dance floor.
"My purse!" You could hear one lady say.
"My watch!" Someone cried. CCPD came immediately and Barry and I had to interview every one.
"It was the Flash!" One lady exclaimed. I asked her how she knew and she showed me a picture on her phone.
"I was coming out of the bathroom and I managed to get a quick picture." There was a picture of indeed a speedster. It had a red suit and the same color lightning as Barry.
"Can you please send this to CCPD for evidence? Thank you for your time," I said before I met with the rest of the team and we regrouped at CCPD.
"So if it wasn't you, than who was it?"
"I don't know. But I don't want them thinking the Flash is a petty thief," Barry said.
"Well if we catch him we can put these rumors to rest. How could there be another speedster anyway? We stopped the Reverse Flash, and Zoom is gone."
"There was no one else that was affected the same way you two were. Unless they-"
"Had Velocity 9," Caitlin said.
"What?" I asked.
"Velocity 9 is a speed enhancing drug. We had to give it to Jay when you were on earth 2 so he could destroy Tar Pit. It gives temporary speed, and it managed to heal his damaged cells. But we were the only ones who administered it."
"Then how could anyone have gotten it if it was just you that made it?"
"Well you see, I'm not the only one. There was one other person. I was working on it when I was working at Mercury Labs. Her name was Eliza Harmon. She was the only one who had access to it. We should ask her."
"And Caitlin is the one who should do it. If she does, it will eliminate suspicions."
"Good thinking. Now, tomorrow's training. Meet me at the cliffs."
"Why?" Barry asked.
"Just trust me," Cisco said before he trailed off to his computer.
"So tomorrow we meet you at the cliffs and we'll regroup here so Caitlin can talk about Eliza. Sounds like a plan," I said before I said goodbye and sped home. Barry followed me, and met me upstairs. He sat on the bed with his face in his hands.
"I just don't want this ruining Central City's image of us. We've put so much work into this, and so much hope in their hearts. I don't want them to feel like I've betrayed them."
"You haven't. And like you did when Zoom publicly humiliated us, you can get over it. If we can prove it is not you, they will believe you. Now, we have to get sleep," I said before I sped into my pajamas and climbed in bed. Barry did the same, and joined me under the covers. He snuggled up against me, wrapped his arms around me, and put his head on my shoulder.
"Goodnight," he whispered before planting a kiss on my shoulder and dozing off.
The next morning, Barry and I woke up on time and managed to get to the cliff in record time. Cisco asked for us to be suited up, so we came in our suits.
"Hello Flashes, welcome to today's training. Today we will be practicing cliff jumping."
"What?"
"Woah, woah, woah. I'm pregnant here."
"And I clearly know that, but I got that covered. Chloe, you're first. You tend to learn faster."
"Hey!" Barry said.
"No offense, but you know it's true....So, what you're going to do is run from one end of the cliff, and jump over the water, and land on the other side....okay? Good!" Cisco said before I backed away. Of course I had doubts and questions, but he's the genius and not me. I scuffed my feet in the dirt, and studied my surroundings so I could calculate a few possible ways to successfully get over there.
"Go!" Cisco yelled before I was off. From the dismount off the cliff, to being in midair above a rapid water cliff, my feet were going faster than my head. I was worried when I was losing ground too soon, and I was coming close to the edge of the other side. But I missed it. I fell just a few feet short and began falling down. I couldn't see him, but I knew that Barry was panicking. I thought I was going to fall into the cliff, when something caught me. I was caught by a large safety net. I rolled over and I smiled.
"I guess it's a good thing I have these things," Cisco said about his drones.
"It really is," Barry said before I was returned to the ground after being carried to safety. Now it was Barry's turn. He tried a similar thing with a similar tactic and didn't make it as well. After Cisco retrieved him and he was returned to the ground, we sped back over to S.T.A.R Labs. When we entered the cortex, Jessie was being held by the arm with a gun up to her head, Caitlin was sitting on the ground, and Harry was begging for Jessie to be released.
"What do you want? We know it's you Eliza."
"Its Trajectory!" She yelled. "Where's my V9?" She asked.
"We don't have any more...." Caitlin said.
"Well make more or this girl gets it!" She said while Jessie quietly whimpered.
"You're in luck because we have just the right ingredients to make it..." Caitlin said before she got up slowly and walked to another part of the lab. She came back a few minutes later with a tray of V9 vials. Trajectory dropped Jessie and stabbed one of the V9 vials into Jessie's neck before she sped off. Barry and I went after her while Harry, Cisco, and Caitlin assisted Jessie. We chased her to the Central City Bridge. She stopped all cars on the bridge and created a big traffic jam. She began running back and forth from one end of the bridge to another. It wasn't until later that we realized what's going on.
"Barry, she's creating friction. This bridge is gonna go down. We have to get every one out of here," I said before Barry sped away to get everyone to safety. We got them out just in time, because at that moment the bridge went down, and there was a gap between where Trajectory stood and where Barry and I stood.
"Chloe, there's no way we can get across," Barry said.
"There's always a way," I told him backing up. I sped as fast as I could, and again the moment felt like slow motion. I was flying over the edge of the bridge like I was with the cliff. The only difference was that I made it this time.
"Eliza, Stop! You using this V9 gives you that rush....that high....But it feeds the monster inside of you. I can help you if you let me. Don't do this," I tried to persuade her. It didn't work because she stabbed the V9 needle into her leg and gave herself another dose. I was mesmerized at what I saw next.
"So long Flashette," she told me before she sped away. But this was different than other times. She sped away, but didn't make it very far without her lightning turning blue. She evaporated, and all that was left of her was her suit. Being puzzled, I went back to S.T.A.R. Labs to talk.
Barry had unveiled Jay's hat to every one in a display case a few days earlier, and it was very helpful for figuring out his true identity.
"The lightning was blue like-"
"Zooms. That can't be him because we closed all the breaches."
"Well something points to him. And I know just how were gonna do it," Barry said before walking over to Jay's hat and smashing the display case. Glass shattered among the floor, and Barry ignored it as he grabbed the hat and made his way to Cisco. As soon as Cisco touched it, he wasn't with us. He was with the inner thoughts of his mind, and he was vibing. When he was finished, he had this look on his face that we had never seen before. Cisco didn't even know what to say:
"What Cisco?" I asked.
"We were wrong this whole time. Another person! Another person we let come in here and betray us! I should have known!"
"What are you talking about?" Barry asked.
"Jay is Zoom....the whole time....right under our noses....this whole time.."
"He set us up....AGAIN!" Barry said slamming his hands on the table. Barry sped away to the cliff we trained on. I could see and hear everything through the earpiece and camera. He arrived at the cliff and stopped for a second. He looked down at the water and fell to his knees. He began to cry, but that sadness disappeared and became replaced with rage within seconds.
"DIE!!!!" Barry yelled over the edge of the cliff.
