Flashette(Book Two)

Zoom stood over Barry as he cried, and as I was comforting him. Barry hesitated, and eventually sped over to Jay and pinned him against the wall:
"That's it Flash, use that anger!" He challenged. He got out of Barry's grasp as sped away and we followed him. We chased him down busy streets and up buildings, throwing punches and kicks occasionally. We pinned him down in an alley:
"Go on! End me! Do it right now! Then you'll see we aren't that different," Jay said. Barry held up his vibrating hand nervously until another Zoom came up from behind the pinned down Jay and stabbed him through the chest.
"Let me do it for you," the other Zoom said before the Jay under Barry died.
"Another time remenant," I whispered.
"You're almost ready," the new Zoom said speeding away. Barry and I were left looking at each other with confused expressions.
I brought Barry home after Zoom left us and he wouldn't sleep. Every time he'd try, he'd wake up because the same moment of his father's death would play over and over again in his head. I comforted him and got little sleep, but that wasn't the worst of it. The funeral was the worst on Barry.
"I can't do this," Barry said when he tried to make a speech about his father under the umbrella we were sharing at Henry's funeral. Joe cut in, giving the most beautiful speech about Henry and his life. He made points such as that he brought light in the darkest of times, and that he proved that you can escape the darkness. Barry was crying and I was as well. I had met him only a few times, but cared for him as if he were my own father.
      We went back to Joe's after the funeral and Barry slumped around. Barry was staring out the window and I tried to get him to do something, but he wouldn't look away. That was until Wally came over to talk to us:
"After everything you've done for me and this city and now Zoom and your dad....I'm so sorry. And that all this time I didn't know you were..........them. You gave up your powers for me. I can't thank y-" Wally said before I interrupted him.
      "It's no problem for family," I said with a smile.
      "If you need anything just say the word."
       "Thanks Wally!" I said before Barry walked over to the door.
        "I need some air," he said before walking out the door. Joe was about to go when I stepped in:
       "I got it." I walked out the door and joined him on the steps of the porch:
        "He's gone Chloe. Just when I was getting used to my moms death, Zoom had to take my father away. How am I supposed to move on from that? My only family I had left is gone. I miss him already."
        "I understand Barry. You have to move on. I know it won't take a matter of minutes, but I'm here and you can take as much time as you need," I said intertwining our fingers.
      "ZOOM!" Barry yelled when Jay sped by. I sped after Barry and we met Zoom at an intersection.
      "You. You killed-"
     "Many, I know. Listen, I want to race you. To really see who's the fastest alive. You two versus me to see who is  the fastest man alive...and woman. I'll be waiting," he said before speeding off.
"So he wants to race?" Cisco asked us when we told the team and regrouped at S.T.A.R Labs.
"Yeah he wants to see-"
"That's not the only thing he wants. There has to be more," Harry contradicted.
"Yeah, you know how it goes in the movies. It's just a decoy for a bigger plan. You know like-" Cisco tried saying before Barry snapped him back into reality.
"Well we're gonna race and we're gonna win. We have to. He has to end. He has to pay for-" Barry said.
"You can't do this. You're too angry. If you race him on his terms right now you're gonna lose." Barry sped off to the pipeline angrily, I followed:
"Barry..."
"I know what you're going to say, and it's not going to help. I'm gonna get him. And I know you want him too."
"Yes I do Bar, but you have to understand that you're not thinking clearly. You're anger is clouding your judgement."
"How am I not supposed to be angry and want vengeance? This is Zoom we're talking about. He's killed many innocent lives and he's not gonna take any more. Our job as the Flashes is to protect this City, and he's threatening OUR city. I'm not just gonna ignore that."
"I understand that. But you can't go out like this right now. I'm sorry Barry."
       "For wha-?" Barry asked before Harry trenquilized him. We dragged him to the pipeline and tried to make a plan, but Barry's screaming became distracting.
       "HEY!! HEY!!! YOU GOTTA LET ME OUT OF HERE!!" Barry yelled from the pipeline as he banged on the door. "I don't believe you."
       "It's for your own good Barry. It was a group decision," Harry said.
     "For me it was more of  a 60-40.....it was a group decision."
       "I still don't believe you. Even you Chloe."
        "It was the safest thing to do......Bye Barry," I said with tears in my eyes as I left him in the pipeline. We made a plan, and after hours of discussion and we decided to put it into action.
"So Caitlin will act as a decoy while you guys get into position. While he's distracted: Cisco, Harry, and Joe will swoop in and get him. I will pickup Caitlin and be on standby. Got it?" I asked through the earpiece for confirmation.
"Yup," they all said.
"On your mark Caitlin," I said before she walked out of the van towards Jay's hideout.
"Jay!" She called. She repeated until he came out.
"What did I tell you? When you walked out I would-"
"Show me no mercy, I know. But I have a preposition and just let me explain. I walked away because I was scared to embrace the darkness inside of me. And now I'm willing to accept it."
"See, I knew you'd come around," Zoom said walking over to Caitlin. "But I'm afraid it's too late," he said. Before he could do anything, Joe shot him with his gun and it fired a collar at Zoom. I then came in and brought Caitlin to safety. I watched as Zoom fell to the ground and tried to take it off. The collar was working on Zoom, and we were ready to push him into the breach. But I realized what Zoom was planning and I tried to reach out for Joe, but it was too late. Zoom had taken Joe with him to Earth 2.
"JOE!!" I yelled. After the breach closed, we immedietely went to S.T.A.R Labs to come up with another plan. After conversing for a while, we had company:
"Hey guys I just........what's wrong?" Wally asked confused.
"Zoom took dad," Iris said.
"What? How? If Barry and Chloe were there there's no way he could have gotten him."
"Barry wasn't," I said guilty.
"You fought Zoom alone! What about Chloe, she could have done something. Why didn't she do something about it? Why did you lock Barry up? Barry has determination and he won't stop until Zoom is gone. That's what you need to stop him."
"That's what he needed to get himself killed. And I can't face Zoom alone. We didn't think he'd do something like this."
"That's where it's your fault. It's Zoom we're talking about! The person who killed many innocent people, the person who lead a meta army here to kill everyone, and the same man who killed Barry's dad right in front of him," Wally said before angrily walking out of the cortex. A few minutes later we got a beep and Jessie was on it:
"Guys, Barry's not in his-" she said before being interrupted by a gust of wind. "Cell anymore."
"Why did you let him go?" I asked Wally.
"He needs to be. You have to race. It's the only way to beat Zoom."
"It if you don't win, all the multiverses will disappear," Cisco said.
"And I'm still getting those Earth 2 vibes where it's destroyed and it's terrifying. It's like watching transformers in 4D."
"Thanks Cisco.....and that's a chance we all have to take. He will eventually conquer them all if we don't do something," Barry said.
"Let's do it," I said to Barry. We couldn't talk to Zoom directly, so we had to come up with a plan. We decided to use the same tactic that was used when we were trapped in the speedforce:
"We'll do it," we said to Zoom through the tornado we were centered in. "But on one condition, Joe gets returned to us unharmed, and if he is the deal is off."
"One condition, after we race," Zoom said giving us his sinister smirk.
"Deal," we said before the portal closed. We took that as our cue to leave and head for his hideout. When we got there, everything was just the way it was. Joe and Zoom came into view a few seconds after we arrived.
"We know about your plans. This isn't just a race, you want our energy to power your machine."
"Look who figured it out. Guess it was that hard. Especially for a group of nerds. I tried to spell it out for you but-"
"What are the rules?" I asked.
"A race. Each lap produces 1 giga watt of energy and I need 500. If you can race me and stop the machine you win. If you don't, then all the other earths will crumble-"
"Leaving just our earth, how generous," Cisco butted in.
"Let's see how fast you really are Flashes," he said before we got into running position. We put our masks on our heads and waited for the countdown.
     When he said go, we were off and we were running around the machine. With every step, we could feel the power being generated. Eventually, a stream was starting to go up to the sky gradually. We were falling behind and Zoom was winning, but that didn't stop us. We ran so fast, we created time remenants of ourselves. That bought us some time to get Joe and bring him back to the team. Both remenants began to run at the base of the machine, while we stood with the team and watched their work.
"What are they doing?" Cisco asked.
"They're creating their own pulses. If they do it will counteract the machine. The only downfall is they..."
"Die..." I finished. The machine stopped, and Zoom stopped running.
"NO!!!" Zoom cried out after returning to the ground. Barry and I made our move and tackled him. He fought back but not well enough because we pinned him down.
"Do it, I know you want to. End it all right now." We noticed the Time Wraith creatures coming our way and we knew about them from our previous run in during time travel.
"We won't have to," we said before we stepped back and let them take him away. Before he was taken, his grey suit transformed to black, his skin began to lose color, and his emblem turned to red and white.
     Barry and I hugged at the fact that Zoom was gone and eventually kissed, but we weren't done yet. We had some unfinished business. Joe told me about the "Man in the Iron Mask" when he was held prisoner and I remembered him, so I decided to go back go Earth 2 to rescue him.
I brought him back and it was shocking to see who he really was. As soon as that mask came off, Barry's mood had change, along with everyone else in the room. Cisco clamped off the mask to reveal: Henry's doopelganger. He had facial hair, and he was more muscular but it was him indeed.
"Thank you for saving me. It's been too long," he said.
"Who are you?" I asked him.
"I'm the real Jay Gerrick. On my earth, I'm a speedster like the two of you. That mask dampened my powers and that's why I was defenseless. Thank you for saving me."
"It was no prob-" I tried to say before Barry stormed out of the cortex.
"Barry, what's wrong?" I asked chasing after him.
"That's my dad's doppelgänger, and he happens to be a speedster. He looks just like him and I can't go out there and face him like that. I'm not even over the death of my own father."
"It's okay and you don't have to be yet. Do you want me to tell them we have to leave?" I asked Barry.
"You know what, no. I'm going to do this and we're gonna get him home," Barry said. I smiled and grabbed his hands before intertwining our fingers and walking down to the speed cannon. Everyone said their goodbyes to us, and it was hard seeing Jessie and Harry go because we've become so close:
"We'll meet again Flashes," Harry said before tipping his hat, waving, and getting ready to go. I said goodbye to Jessie and hugged her. Jay sped them into the speed cannon, and they were gone. It was sad seeing them go, but we all regrouped at the West house to try and lighten the mood.
Since we were somewhere private, I took the initiative to find out something for my own that I've been wondering for a while now. I haven't been feeling well lately, and I was late, so I decided that one thing could be the only option.
      I took the test and waited for the results. I stood in awe as I stared at the test in front of me.......+. All I could think of at that moment was when we lost our baby before, and hoped that it wouldn't happen again. I hid the test, and walked to where everyone was conversing. I noticed Barry was absent, so I opened up the door to find him sitting on the porch. I felt bad knowing that this wasn't what he needed to hear at the moment, but maybe he won't take it like I thought he will.
"Hey Bar," I said walking over to him and sitting next to him. I intertwined my fingers with his and rested my head on his shoulder.
"How can I feel like we won, but at the same time feel like we've lost?" Barry asked.
"Because you've lost so much in your life as have I. Also, you are suffering another loss. It's friends and family that help you get over these things. We just have to get through to together. How ever much time you need, I will always be here."
"Thank you. It's just that now I'm so broken and vulnerable, and I just need time to heal. I need time to find myself."
"And that's understandable. You've gone through a lot of darkness, more than most, and I will be by your side every second of it."
"Thank you Chloe," he said before kissing me passionately.
"To end on a good note, I just wanted to say that.......I'm-" I tried to say before the door opened.
"Chloe, Joe wants you," Wally said before shutting the door behind him. I gave Barry one last kiss before heading inside. I was talking to Joe when I saw through the reflection in the window of Barry speeding away. I sped out the door and followed him.
We ended up going through a portal, and were strangely transported back to the night our parents were murdered. Barry sped his dad out of the house and fought the Reverse Flash. I watched, but then realized my parents were alive as well. I sped to my house and saw my younger self in bed sleeping peacefully. I went to my parents room and they were asleep as well. Since Barry took the Reverse Flash out, he wasn't able to harm my family, ensuring my families safety. Barry handled the Reverse Flash and joined me at my house.
"What are you doing here? I came back to save my parents and you followed?"
"Barry, I had to. I couldn't let you do this alone. This is-" I said before I was interrupted my my younger self coming down the stairs.
"Who are you?" mini me asked.
"We're the Flashes. We're here to protect you and you're safe."
"Chloe, what's going on? Who are you talking to? I thought I was hearing-" my mom said coming down the stairs. She grabbed my younger self and spoke:
"Who are you? Stay away from her!" My dad was standing on the steps alongside my mom.
"We're the Flashes. We just wanted to make sure everything was okay and it is. We're not gonna hurt you," I said holding out my hand. My younger form took hold of it.
"You're safe," I told my family. I was happy they were alive along with Barry's family, but I knew that major consequences were coming.

How was chapter 32? I made Chloe not be locked up like Barry. I know that both speedsters were supposed to be, but there was more content for you because I included her in everything else. And some of the events that were in this chapter were also a bit different from the episode. I added some things of my own and took things out, but this book doesn't follow the exact plot line. Today was the season finale and you know what that means.....This book has come to an end.😱😭😭Thank you for all the reads, comments, votes, suggestions, and adds. There will be a third book that goes with season 3 when it airs and it will pick up where it left off in this book. I will also be updating previous chapters and not new content other than Authors Notes. I also have something interesting. As Zoom was being taken away by the time wraith creature things, he changed and his appearance became more like them.
