We live in a world today where love comes and goes. Everything is mysterious and dating is an adventure. You may find the one in your lifetime, while some aren't so lucky. In my world, I haven't had the best luck. Where I come from, any mark your soul mate has on their body shows up on your own. Only you two can see them, and it's a pain sometimes. For me, not having seen much, it acts as a constant reminder that I am alone. I've always dreamed of the one. My Romeo...Night in shining armor. But when I think of me and my current situation, I just get lost in the daydream. Lost in the reality of what will never be. They say that everyone has the right person out there for them and that if they don't find them, they didn't look hard enough. That's an untrue statement that describes my situation. I've been looking everywhere for my soulmate as hard as I can. I didn't even bother dating around because I figured I already had someone picked out for me, I just had to find them. I'd look everywhere, making smalltalk with people just to see if they came close to what I was looking for, but nothing happened.
All of this romance/soulmate mumbo-jumbo didn't make sense after something happened. I woke up one morning, on my own as usual. I walked up to my dresser to get changed for my workday when I took my shirt off. Hickeys lined my chest, and I turned around to see my back covered in clawmarks. "My soulmate's a little frisky" I thought to myself. A smile appeared on my face, only to go away when I noticed another small detail: a wedding band mark was present on my right ring finger. My smile faded into a frown, realizing that my "soulmate" was taken. "I guess there really isn't anyone for me." With that, I finished my morning duties and proceeded to go to work.
When I entered my workplace, the two bright and cheery employees were hard at work, while the other not so happy worker sat in the back.
"Hey, Chloe!" The long haired employee spoke. He greeted me, his eyes glued to his computer.
"Hi, Cisco! Hi, Caitlin." Caitlin turned around and waved. I then said hi to Julian, who scoffed from the back of the room. I sat down at my workspace and began working on my DNA charts I was given. I had been an assistant to Caitlin, who helps out with the medicine portion of The Flash team. I thought it was so cool working for Central City's resident superhero, but it doesn't really do you much when you can't tell anybody anything about your job.
"Where are the love birds?" Cisco asked the team. I turned around with a furrowed brow.
"Who?" I asked, hoping I would get an answer.
"Barry and Iris...You don't have his socials..." Cisco said, realizing I don't keep up with the team's personal lives. "Him and Iris got married yesterday." My head went down in sadness, thinking about how happy they are, and. how I was going to be lonely.
"I'm sorry to upset you, I didn't know you--" I put my hand up and stopped Cisco from saying any more.
"It's okay," I said, continuing to work. After a while, Barry and Iris came into the cortex, rejoicing about their marriage.
"We eloped!" Iris cheered, throwing her and Barry's hands up in the air. Cisco jumped from his chair and danced with them. We all got up to give hugs to the lucky pair, and I got up slowly. I hugged Iris first, and then Barry. When Barry held out his hands to give me a hug, I noticed something strange. I noticed the shape of the wedding band, the same shape of the mark on my hand. And even scarier, when I gave him a hug, his collar loosened, and I could see everything: the scratch marks...the hickeys...the lipstick stains...All present on his chest. The craziest part: It all matched mine.

I've come up with a writing schedule!! I will upload a short each week, Fridays, 8:00 EST until actual content starts. After that, shorts will be out sparingly. I hope you will all tune in to get more content! There may be gaps in between where I upload during the week as well, so more than one a week may be uploaded!
