HELLO FLASHETTEFAM! Flashette is back at it again (not with the white vans), but with another short! I have been OBSESSED with: "Pray for the Wicked" and couldn't help myself. I am in love with "Say Amen (Saturday Night), and thought it would be fun to write.
I have structured it as usual:
Writing is regular, lyrics are italicized (though there are some parts in the writing, such as text messages, which are italicized.
Bare with the structure, I know it's a little confusing. It's also a little different than usual, but I really like the song!
**All song credits and some actions go to Brendon Urie and Panic! At the Disco. I am only responsible for characters, elements, and actions I create.**
Enjoy, and I'll talk to you soon!

I bopped around my house as the song: "Say Amen (Saturday Night)" by Panic! At the Disco blasted through my speakers. I was getting ready for my date with Barry Allen, a colleague I had just recently met at work, but instantly fell in love with. We felt this instant attraction, and I could tell we had chemistry the moment I stepped into his lab. It wasn't until a few months later that I asked him out on a date. I could tell he was too shy, so I invited him over to my place.
After I turned on the stove to boil the pasta we were having for dinner, I tidied up the general areas of my house. When I felt the house was in good shape, I headed to my bedroom to get changed. As I began to change, I felt a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach, as if something was wrong. I finished sliding on my dress before walking up to my bedroom door and peering into the hallway.
"I thought I closed the window," I said to myself as I examined it, the curtain flapping around frantically from the night's breeze. After waiting a few seconds without hearing anything else, I closed my bedroom door, and finished preparing myself for my date.
My attention was brought back to the hall when I heard a noise. I peeked my head out once again and walked to the living room, where my phone sat on the table, vibrating. With a long sigh, I walked up to it and clicked the lock button to see a message from Barry:
"Be there in 10," the message read. As my hands glided acros the keyboard to respond, I heard a shuffle from behind me. When I looked back, I saw three masked men, one with a crowbar in his hand. "That must be how he got in," I thought, looking at the man as he swung the crowbar from side to side. I licked my lips at this challenge, and texted back with a smirk:
"Make it 30,". I then placed my phone back on the table and turned to walk back into my bedroom, not bothered by the men's presence. I had a secret that only few knew about, and I certainly wasn't afraid of a few robbers.
Been traveling in packs that I can't carry anymore
Been waiting for somebody else to carry me
There's nothing else there for me at my door
All the people I know aren't who they used to be
I went back to the bedroom, adding finishing touches on my makeup and outfit before turning around to see more men coming through the window. Fortunately for me, I had the upper hand. Ignoring them, I strutted over to my closet and pulled out a belt, checking it to see if it matched well with my dress.
And if I tried to change my life one more day
There would be nobody else to save
And I can't change into a person I don't wanna be so
When I decided that the belt didn't go, I swung it around a few times, gaining some momentum. When it had enough, I threw it at one of the robbers, and it wrapped tightly around his neck. The other men stumbled back, wide eyed at the unexpected scene.
"Oh, it's Saturday night, yeah" played through my speakers as I threw the other end of the belt to the ceiling fan. After a few spins, the robber was suspended in midair. A few more spins and he got close enough to the fan where he was killed, blood pouring all over the room.
A few of the men also attempted to run foreward at me, but slipped and fell on the other person's blood. Men also jumped off my bed to throw me off guard, but I crossed my arms and shot a lightning bolt at him, the man toppling over onto the floor with the rest. The remaining men threw objects in hopes to knock me off my feet, but I just sped right past them.
