I came home after work one day and noticed a note taped to my door. At first, I thought it was for one of those services like free window installation or new sliding glass doors. I was about to crumple it, until I noticed familiar handwriting:
Chloe, welcome home. I didn't go to work today so I could plan a very fun night......I'm hiding somewhere in the house with a nerf gun, waiting for you. The other gun is hidden in the bushes. This is war....The winner gets a special surprise.....;;;;;Good luck! -Barry
I looked over to my right, and tucked in the bushes was a nerf gun. The only downside was that he had given me the smallest nerf gun possible. But I bet he had the biggest and baddest. Mine was one of those really small "rebelle" guns with the pretty darts. I picked up the gun and war began.
I put my house key in the door slowly, and pushed it open as soft as I could. Barely making a sound, I stepped inside. I cautiously examined my surroundings before placing my work bag on the couch. I held my little gun up in the air, waiting for Barry to pop out and strike.
Not behind the couch, I thought as I turned the corner. The couch had be cleared, and he was nowhere downstairs. Upstairs.....
I held my gun in the air cautiously as I proceeded upstairs. I checked every room, except ours. I had noticed our door was cracked open, and I had a suspicion he was inside.
I opened the door slowly, but it made a small creak as I finally pushed it open and it came to a stop. I didn't see him in the closet, and checked under the bed. I saw his feet on the other side, and crept slowly around the bed. I was ready to fire, until I saw that he wasn't there.....It was just his shoes. I turned around, only to have a gun pointed in my direction.
"Well, well.....Looks like you fell for my trap."
"Guess I did. Who are you trying to be, every villain ever?" I asked. "They all use the same line."
"Any last words?" Barry asked as he approached me. He looked down at me, his gun now nudging my chest.
"Run," I whispered to him before I grabbed his gun and pointed it towards him. I now had two guns, and Barry began speeding around the house. I followed him, trying to line up the perfect shot. I couldn't catch him, but that didn't stop me. I continued to shoot and reload, all while speeding around to catch him. Eventually, he stopped.
"Tired?" I asked. "Any last words?" I mocked.
"Actually, yes...." Barry said before leaning over to the couch. He pulled out something in a flash and pointed it at me. Before I could react, the dart had already been fired and was coming in my direction. It hit my chest, and Barry celebrated his victory as I fell to the floor in defeat.
"WOO! I WI-" Barry exclaimed before he stopped. I was on the floor, fake crying. "Babe? Are you okay?" Barry asked as he approached me. I quickly grabbed the gun that had fallen at my side, and shot him in the same place he struck me. He fell to the floor as well, across from me.
"Now we both win..." I said.
"But since we both won, wouldn't that mean that both of us technically lost too?" Barry asked.
"I guess.....So...About that.....surprise.....You mentioned...In the note."
"Oh...Yeah....That.." Barry said with a smirk as he approached me. We both knelt, and his lips met mine. From there, things got more intense then before.
