Barry and I were walking on the street to work when we bumped into someone:
"I'm sorry, I'm a clutz. I didn't see where I was going. Let me help you up," I said offering the stranger my hand. He accepted and I lifted him up of the ground. "Let me get another for you," I said motioning to his coffee.
"You don't have to do th-"
"Its okay. It was my fault and I want I pay you back," I said taking his arm and dragging him into Jitters. He liked his coffee the same as I did and I smiled at him as I handed him the cup that Iris prepared.
"Thank you, really," he said smiling shyly. "I'm on my way to a job interview at CCPD."
"That's funny, we were on our way there. We working there in the forensics department. What are you applying for?"
"Night shift in the forensics department. They needed someone else for the night shift and science was my major."
"If you need any help, we can give you some pointers."
"Ezra," he said, holding out his hand. "Ezra James."
"Chloe and Barry Allen," I said returning the shake. I thought it was interesting he had the same name as our dead baby, but it must have been a coincidence. We walked with him to CCPD and talked to him on the way:
"What got you into forensics?" I asked him.
"I really loved science growing up and I didn't grow up with parents. I lived in foster homes for a while until I escaped so I could find my real parents. I wanted to be in this department so I can finally find them."
"That's the same reason we joined as well. Our parents were murdered by something you may find.....impossible. But The Flash and Flashette are proving that the impossible is out there."
"They really are. And all the metas out there as well," he said tucking a hair behind his ear. "I have my interview, talk to you soon!" He said walking forward and waving goodbye.
"Bye," I said looking at him. He looked so familiar and for a second I thought he could be ours. That can't be, our boy is dead," I thought. I shook off all thoughts that he could be our Ezra and proceeded to walk up to the lab with Barry.
