"Good morning," I whispered to Barry as I rolled over to meet his sleepy eyes. His forehead crinkled as his eyes adjusted to the light. When noticing that I was looking at him, he quickly perked up and greeted me with a peck on the lips. He then took his hand out from under the blanket and stroked my hair.
I enjoyed his touch for a few minutes before pulling my phone off my nightstand and seeing it was already 8:15. Though we didn't have any classes, I decided to get out of bed because I could hear my roommate making noise in the other room. To Barry's dismay, I wiggled out of his grasp and walked towards the door. As I reached for the knob, Barry spoke:
"Are you sure you want to go out dressed like that?" I turned around to face him before looking down at myself, noticing I was only wearing underwear. "I don't mind you dressing like that all the time, but I'm sure your roommate will."
"Good thought," I said before stepping over the mess of Barry and I's clothes and throwing on something from my closet. After changing, I opened my bedroom door and walked into the main area, seeing my roommate making something for breakfast. Continuing to walk, I decided to sit down at one of the counter stools. I sat and observed as she made her breakfast: cereal.
"Hey," I said, trying to get her attention. She looked up at me, eyebrows raised, before turning to the fridge and grabbing the milk.
"What's up?" She asked, still continuing to make her cereal. She poured the milk into her bowl, making sure it was just the right amount.
"Not much," I said, looking around the room. My mind was focused on my bedroom door, which Barry still had been occupying. The thought of having him here made me nervous, not knowing how my roommate would react. She had met him before, but now, Barry and I were in deep. Our relationship was a lot different since the last time she saw us together.
"Not what I heard," she said, putting down the gallon of milk and closing it tightly. She threw it into the fridge and closed the door, quietly. "Sorry...
Wouldn't want to wake him...He must be so tired..."
"What are you hinting at?" I asked, trying to cover up the fact that I knew exactly what she was talking about. My stomach grew with worry.
"You know what I'm hunting at," she said with a wink. "Barry and you last night...I know he's probably at your bedroom door right now, was cupped against the door, listening to everything I'm saying...Besides, you've got no argument against me..." She placed her hand up to the wall and began to tap on it. "Walls...Paper thin...I could hear everything." Filled with embarrassment, I blushed. I took a deep breath and gulped. "And judging by what I was hearing, you don't have any argument against me...You were enjoying it." At that moment, Barry had come out of my room slowly and joined my side in the kitchen. He wrapped an arm around my waist and kissed my temple. My roommate rolled her eyes and scoffed:
"So sweet on the outside, such an animal on the inside," she joked with Barry, chuckling. Barry tugged at the collar of his shirt and gulped. I could tell he was nervous about this conversation, considering it was his first.
     "Wh-hat are-you?"
"I heard your little canoodle session last--"
"Oh," said Barry, looking down. I could see that he had been blushing and was a little embarrassed, not knowing how either of us felt. But as if a switch flipped, Barry's head snapped back up. He looked at me and smiled before bringing his attention back to my roommate. "Lucky you...You got to hear how in love I was with her last night," Barry said, kissing the top of my head. I smiled, feeling slightly less embarrassed than before, knowing Barry didn't really care that she knew.
"How in love we were last night," I replied, taking Barry's hand and kissing it. He made the situation go from embarrassing, to envious and compassionate. I could tell my roommate was jealous of the fact that Barry and I loved each other enough to go to this level of our relationship. With an eye roll, my roommate took her cereal into her room and closed the door.
"More where that came from," Barry yelled toward my roommate's door, giving me a smirk.
