Barry and I awoke at a familiar place. We shot out of bed and looked around. We were confused because last we knew we were at S.T.A.R Labs.
"It's my room," Barry said walking around looking at all his stuff. He picked up little toys off his desk and played with them. We became more curious and went downstairs. It was Barry's parents house. I could see the look of happiness but also confusion in his face.
We saw Joe looking a crime scene. I figured it was the one of Barry's moms murder, but there was less information to tell so soon.
"Hey Joe," I said.
"Hey Chloe, Hey Barry. How do you like it here?" He asked.
"It's good."
"That's good. But I'm not Joe."
"You're not?"
"Nope. We've been expecting you."
"We? Who's we?" I asked.
"Maybe I should explain. Have a seat," he said pointing to a chair. We sat down and he began to speak:
"I'm the speedforce."
"But wait....you're saying we're talking to the thing that's our powers. And you just happen to look just like our adopted father."
"Yup."
"Why are you keeping us here? Our friends are in danger. We have to go back home," I tried telling him.
"You can't....until you catch....that..." Joe said. He pointed over to the door, and Barry and I stood up. We walked over to the door and I saw a 2 black figures zooming around. Barry and I chased them and chased them until we came to the park. We sat on the bench to catch our breath and Iris appeared.
"Iris, what are you doing here?........Oh wait, I forgot it's not you. Why are you doing this?"
"We thought it would be easier for you to transition if you were in a familiar setting with familiar people."
"But you're not understanding. Our world, city, and friends, are in danger and we NEED to get back there. Zoom is going on a rampage and taking over our earth. We need to get back there. You have to let us go. Please."
"I can't do that," Iris said. A vortex began to open up on the water. Barry and I stared at it for a while. Lightning sparked and we were left puzzled.
"What is that?"
"It's your friends," Iris replied.
"I gotta go back. C'mon, you gotta let us go!"
"I can't do that, not after you rejected your powers. You have to earn them back if you want them that bad. Or I can let you go back without your powers."
"Chloe, Barry, take my hand," Cisco called from the tunnel. We stood for a few seconds more before turning around and running towards the mysterious black figures. We didn't want to say no, but it was a chance to get our powers, and we needed them desperately. We chased them until we came to a cemetery.
"Who are you gonna be now?" I asked. The speed force turned around and the speed force had taken the form of Henry.
"What are you gonna do now?" Why are you here?"
"Because you never came here," he said pointing to a headstone. It read:
"Nora Allen. Beloved wife, mom, and daughter. 1951-2000" Barry crouched down to it and began to cry.
"How could you...why are you doing this to him?" I asked while rubbing Barry's shoulders. Henry only responded by pointing across the cemetery. I walked over to where he was pointing and saw 2 headstones. They were of my parents. I began to cry as well, walking over and placing my hand softly on the headstones. I had came to visit them before, but the realization is hitting me now. I now was filled with rage and stormed over to Henry.
"Why are you doing this to us? This is unfair. You can't guilt trip us like this. We need to get home."
"Not until-" Henry tried to say. At that point, Barry and I were running towards that figures. We stopped in front of his house and we went inside to take a break because it was dark outside. We rounded the corner and our parents were in the living room. I don't know how or why.
"Chloe, Barry, sit!" They all exclaimed. Barry and I were crying at that point and couldn't contain ourselves.
"I know you're not real, but I'm sorry we didn't save you when we went back in time. We could have and should have. But we didn't and how do we live with that? What would they think of us with the fact that we had the chance to save them but didn't."
"That's the thing guys. You risk your lives to save everyone, and you were faced with such a hard choice to make. You chose many over one and that's one of the toughest choices to make, especially since it was your parents. You were given your powers for a reason and you have to believe that."
"You're right. All this time we avoided the fact that they were gone. Whenever someone talked about them, we would change the subject. And it's taken us over 10 years to realize that they are gone. Being sad about them being gone won't make them come back. Life moves foreword."
"Exactly. You remember this story don't you?" Nora asked holding up a book titled: "The Runaway Dinosaur,"
"How could we forget: "Though you you don't have the gnarly teeth or the long neck, you have a mother that loves you for you and if you had t-Rex arms, I wouldn't be able to give you hugs," Barry and I recited. (This isn't exactly like the quote. I can't remember it exactly word for word.)
"You're ready," all the parents said to us in unison. The figures we've been chasing sped into the room, and we put our hands out to catch them. Barry and I held them firmly in our hands. It disappeared, and we were suddenly facing the other way. We had our powers, and we were suited up. I thought it was a joke, but it must have been a lesson experience. A vortex showed up, and Iris and Cisco were in view.
"Guys, come back," they said holding out their hands. We gave one goodbye glance to the parents before we grabbed their hands and were transported back to S.T.A.R Labs.
"It's so great to have you back guys, but there's a slight issue. Girder is back, but he's like a-" Cisco said before he door got busted down. Girder stood in the doorway. "He's a zombie," Cisco finished.
"He wants me. Use me," Iris said. I sped her to the cortex and Barry followed. We sped Iris all around the lab and they still weren't finished on their project to stop Girder. We lead him back to the room and they still weren't done. Barry and I made sure everyone was safe before we sped around Girder. He began throwing punches and we dodged every one because we were too fast for him.
"Their charging the electromagnets. Good thinking!" Harry said. We stopped running and Girder gave us a convincing look. But Girder collapsed to the ground seconds after.
"Sorry, but we finally had to put this feud to rest," Barry said. I looked at him and gave him a long, passionate kiss.
"We're home," I said resting my forehead on his.
"We're home," Barry replied. We said our hello's, and talked about what happened while we were gone. The team had been through a lot while we were gone. Sadly, Caitlin still hadn't returned. Barry and I walked into the medical bay to see Jessie lying on a bed.
"When the accelerator went off, she got affected by the blast.....and she's been like this ever since. Barry examined her for a second before placing her hand in his. I saw the bolt of lightning occur when they touched, but no one else did. After a few seconds, her eyes fluttered open and Harry had a look of relief.
"What happened? Why am I here?" Jessie asked, oblivious to the incident.
"How did you?" Joe asked.
"It was the speedforce," Harry responded.
"Did you know that was gonna happen?" Iris asked.
"Uh...no..." Barry replied. His gaze met mine and we locked eyes. We both smiled before waking over to Henry sitting in the next room.
"Hey guys, you know how at Christmas I told you I was going to leave so you wouldn't have to worry about me. Well, after this whole thing it made me realize. I'd be missing a lot if I wasn't around. I've missed enough of your lives, and I can continue to watch you grow if I stick around. So you're stuck with me now." After hearing this, Barry was overjoyed. He looked at his father with teary eyes, and then back at me. He gave his father a long hug before I spoke:
"After the whole thing with the parallel speedforce universe, it made us realize a lot of things about our lives. Like that whole talk you used to give about fate. Things happen for a reason to all of us, good and bad. But it's those events that make us who we are. Our parents are gone, and they aren't coming back. But they would have wanted us to move on and not dwell on the past. The way things are now, we're just gonna power through it. But if I had to go back and change any events in my life, I wouldn't because it makes me who I am and I wouldn't have it any other way." At this point, Henry was crying and Barry was as well. Barry looked at me before smashing his lips into mine. I kissed back and we studied each other before returning back to Henry. He smiled seeing us so happy. His only response was a smile and a pat on Barry's leg. He walked out, and Barry and I decided we had somewhere we had to go.
We arrived at our destination. It was rainy, and we held our umbrella together. My hand was over Barry's and he had a backpack slung over his shoulder. He stood in front of where his mom's headstone was. He placed the backpack down and pulled out a flower. He placed it on her grave and let out a sniffle.
"I never had the guts to come here on my own. Joe offered to take me, but I just made up excuses so I didn't have to come. And now I'm finally coming to terms that she's gone," Barry said. I walked over to my parents grave and placed a single flower on each of theirs. I said a few things before resuming my position back at Barry's side. We shared one more kiss before he placed one last thing on his mom's grave: the book "The Runaway Dinosaur."

Cisco POV
I was shocked when I saw Barry and Chloe not in the chamber. Everyone was breaking down and it was a sad time for all of us.
"I'm so sorry," Harry said as he opened the door and we all charged in. We all looked for any signs of life. Anything that could give us a clue. I walked into the machine and pulled out the torn pieces of the suit. As soon as I touched them, I got a vibe. I saw both of them standing in the center of this speed tornado. They weren't facing me and couldn't hear me. But at least I knew they were alive.
"They're alive!" I exclaimed throwing my hands in the air. "I vibed them and I saw them both. They're okay!" Everyone's shoulders dropped and they were relaxed.
"Jessie, Wally, come down here please!" Harry exclaimed through the intercom. They didn't respond and he repeated the process. He got worried and sped out the door.
"JESSIE!"
"WALLY!" Both parents yelled after their children. They ran to their aid and immediately checked their pulses of their bodies sprawled out on the floor. Wally was breathing, but Jessie wasn't. Joe shook Wally furiously and he awoke. Jessie on the other hand wasn't. Harry began to give her chest compressions and it took a while, but you could feel her pulse. She was alive. Wally got up and went home, while Jessie stayed with us. We hooked her to a machine and she was stable.
"Henry's a doctor and he could watch over Jessie," I suggested.
"Is there anything from when Barry was struck that could help?" Iris asked me.
"Maybe in our meta morgue. That's where the old Harrison Wells did all his work. Maybe there's something there."
"I'll go with," Iris said grabbing a flashlight for herself and handing me one. We walked downstairs and looked around. Shuffling was heard all around the room and she blamed me.
"Would you stop bumping into everything?" She asked me.
"I'm not."
"Well if you're not who-" she said before she was interrupted by a loud crash. Girder appeared.
"I thought he was dead," Iris said.
"So did we. This is some walking dead level stuff." Iris and I ran upstairs and we tried to come up with a plan quick.
"Bad news. The meta Girder is back as a zombie. And we don't know how or when. The accelerator must have reactivated something inside of him that made him this way. But we have to come up with a way to get him quick before he destroys the city. But without Chloe and Barry-"
"When I was in Iron heights there was a prisoner that would always talk about how when he broke free he was going to run back to his love," Harry said.
"Interesting....So you think he's doing that? He's on his way to Jitters right now. He never had a girlfriend. He was too busy flirting with me- oh. He's after me," Iris said.
"And the house is where he got you the first time. Wally's there. We have to warn him to get out of there," Joe said worriedly.
"No, this is good. I can lure him away from there to S.T.A.R Labs."
"Whatever you say," Joe said to me before we started our plan.
"So you don't feel any different?" Joe asked Wally. I heard through the earpiece.
"I feel fine," he replied. Joe dropped his mug on the floor and Wally didn't react.
"I bought you that mug! I can't believe you think he's a meta!" Iris exclaimed. We gave word to Iris and Joe about Girder and Iris ran outside to greet him.
"HEY TONY!" She yelled to him. He turned around and faced her. "Come and get it!" She challenged running towards S.T.A.R Labs. We were working on this magnetic machine that was supposed to stop him, but it wasn't even close to being done. Iris had to keep stalling and she eventually had to take a break. All of us were in this one room with a metal door. To our mistake, Tony could break it easily and he was going to get us all.
"We have to try to get them back!" I yelled over the pounding door. I grabbed Iris' hand and we repeated the same process as before. This time when the vortex appeared, Barry and Chloe grabbed on to us and we were home. They wanted go celebrate their arrival, but we filled them in on Girder and he had busted in the door as we mentioned his name. Chloe picked up Iris and sped her around S.T.A.R Labs with Barry following. We scurried off to the machine to finish it. It wasn't ready by the time they were and they lured him back into the room. They began to speed around him to slow him down, but they were actually charging our machine for us. They stopped running and the machine worked. Tony was gone for good and they celebrated with a kiss. We said our hello's before walking back upstairs to Jessie. What surprised me was that Barry actually revived her. And after hearing about all the crazy stuff with them when they were in that universe, it makes me wonder what's in store for the future.
